Napoli Horror Festival Corti 2026 is a film competition dedicated to horror and thriller short films, organized by Le Streghe del Palco s.r.l. as part of Napoli Horror Festival 2026 – L’Arte Generata dalla Paura – Special Edition.
The competition aims to explore the theme of fear through audiovisual storytelling and to promote filmmakers, directors and emerging creative talents.
Fiction short films with a maximum running time of 20 minutes, including credits, are eligible. Submitted films must explore fear through the different expressions of the horror and thriller genres, including elements of mystery and noir.
Selected films will take part in the final stage of the competition, which will be held in Naples at il Parco San Laise - Ex Base Nato.
Participation in the competition is free of charge.
The Jury will present the following awards:
Best Short Film: a voucher worth €500.00 and a Napoli Horror Festival plaque, awarded to the director.
Best Special Effects: a Napoli Horror Festival plaque, awarded to the person responsible for the special effects.
Special Mentions: the Jury may present additional awards to films and artistic contributions considered particularly deserving.
RULES – NAPOLI HORROR FESTIVAL CORTI 2026
1. Eligibility Requirements
Fiction short films are eligible, with no restrictions regarding style or cinematic language, with a maximum running time of 20 minutes, including credits. Documentaries are not eligible.
Submitted works must explore the theme of fear through the different expressions of the horror and thriller genres, including elements of mystery and noir.
Films in Italian are accepted. Films in other languages must be provided with english subtitles.
2. Submission
Participation in the competition is free of charge. Films must be submitted through the Festhome platform by the deadline indicated on the official competition page.
3. Selection
All submitted films will be evaluated for selection. The filmmakers of the selected works will be notified according to the procedures and schedule established by the Festival organization.
4. awards
The Jury will present the following awards:
– Best Short Film: a voucher worth €500.00 and a Napoli Horror Festival plaque, awarded to the director;
– Best Special Effects: a Napoli Horror Festival plaque, awarded to the person responsible for the special effects;
– Special Mentions: additional awards may be presented to
films and artistic contributions selected by the Jury.
5. Final Stage
Selected films will take part in the final stage of the competition, which will be held in Naples at il Parco San Laise - Ex Base Nato, according to the programme announced by the Festival organization.
6. Acceptance of the Rules
Submission of a film constitutes full acceptance of these rules.
