Cash Prizes: 500€
Best Short Film Award
The Official Short Film Section was created with the intention of vindicating the cinema that emerged from our land. That is why its main requirement is that its director be from Lleida.
1. Dates and location
As previously announced, the second edition of PLA – Festival de Cine Rural de Juneda will take place over the weekend of April 23 to 26, 2026, at the Teatre Foment de Juneda.
During these dates, both the screenings of the selected short films and the awards ceremony, at which a winner will be designated, will be held.
2. Requirements
Works of fiction, documentary and/or animation with a maximum duration of 25 minutes (including credits) and open theme may compete.
The production date of the work may not be earlier than January 1, 2024.
The director of the work must have been born in the province of Lleida or explain what connection they have with this territory that would make them eligible to participate in the selection.
In the case of a collectively directed short film, it is not necessary for all directors to have been born in Lleida in order to participate.
Each applicant may submit more than one work.
Selected works may have been screened and/or awarded at other festivals.
3. Format
Submitted works must have a resolution of HD, Full HD, 2K or 4K. The minimum resolution is 1920 × 1080 (1080p).
If the original version is not in Catalan or Spanish, subtitles must be provided.
4. Submission
Submission to PLA – Festival de Cine Rural de Juneda is free of charge and will be open until March 11, 2026.
Submission through the Festhome platform is mandatory.
PLA assumes that anyone submitting a work to the competition holds the rights to it; therefore, any liability for infringement rests exclusively with the participants.
5. Selection Committee
The festival programming team will be responsible for selecting the short films in competition.
The list of selected works will be made public together with the rest of the program of the current edition, approximately one month before the festival takes place.
Once the festival has communicated the selection of a work, it may not be withdrawn.
6. Jury and Awards
The selected works will be evaluated by a jury composed of audiovisual professionals. The jury’s decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
The winning short film will receive a cash prize of €500 (subject to the legally applicable deductions) and a diploma.
Submission to the festival implies full acceptance of these regulations.
