Alberoandronico was founded with the aim of promoting and safeguarding citizens’ participation in the cultural, civic and social life of the community. Among the Association’s activities are the promotion of culture in all its forms, including literature, theatre, music and cinema; initiatives aimed at the most vulnerable groups; the practice of sport; the organisation of cultural trips, excursions and guided tours; cooperation with neighbourhood committees and educational institutions; and the development of forms of social assistance, as well as civic and environmental protection.
The Prize is divided into eight sections in the Italian language:
A) Unpublished poetry on a free theme;
B) Unpublished poetry collection on a free theme;
C) Unpublished narrative on a free theme (short story, essay, fable, article);
D) Unpublished work in poetry or prose on the theme: “The road, the home, the city, the environment: building and living the territory”;
E) Published book of fiction (E1) or poetry (E2);
F) Unpublished song lyrics on a free theme;
G) Unpublished work in poetry or prose on the theme: “Sport”;
H) Unpublished novel or essay (H1), unpublished poetry collection (H2).
A dialect section is also provided:
I) Unpublished poetry in dialect on a free theme.
A photography section is also provided:
L) Unpublished photographic work on a free theme.
A short film section is also provided:
M) Narrative short film (M1); video; documentary; music video; videodance; podcast; videopoetry (M2).
A painting section is also provided:
N) Painting on a free theme.
Participation is possible by submitting one’s work either by email or by post.
Awards

In addition, special prizes are established for the best works submitted from a foreign country and for the best works by poetry and fiction authors whose native language is not Italian. Special recognitions will be awarded to the youngest authors and to the more senior ones.
Certificates of merit will be awarded to the selected authors.
Awards

1. All citizens, regardless of their place of residence, may participate exclusively with works in the Italian language, with the exception of Section I (works in dialect) and the visual arts Sections L, M and N.
2. Each entrant is free to participate in one or more sections.
3. Section A requires the submission of one typewritten poem, which must not exceed 40 lines.
4. Section B allows the submission of a maximum of 8 poems, each of which must not exceed 40 lines. The collection must be given a title and include a table of contents.
5. Section C requires the submission of a written work (short story, essay, fable, article) not exceeding 8 standard pages, each consisting of 2,000 characters including spaces.
6. Sections D and G require the submission of a literary work in poetry (not exceeding 40 lines) or in prose (short story, essay, fable, article) not exceeding 8 standard pages of 2,000 characters each including spaces, addressing the indicated theme.
7. Section E (E1 fiction – E2 poetry) requires the submission of a published volume issued between 1 January 2016 and the Prize deadline (novel, essay, poetry collection), to be sent in 4 copies (signature not required). Electronic editions are also accepted and must be sent in PDF format. An electronic edition is understood to be a work published as such with an ISBN code and not a substitute copy of a printed edition.
8. Section F requires the submission of a typewritten song lyric, which must not exceed 40 lines.
9. Section H (H1 fiction – H2 poetry) requires the submission of an unpublished novel, essay or poetry collection. Collections of short stories are also accepted, provided they are grouped under a single title.
10. Section I requires the submission of a typewritten poem in dialect, with an Italian translation on the facing page, which must not exceed 40 lines.
11. Section L requires the submission of an unpublished photograph on a free theme, in colour or black and white. The image must be produced exclusively using photographic equipment and may be processed with digital editing software provided that such processing does not alter the original characteristics or become the predominant element of the composition. The photograph must not bear the name of the author or any other identifying mark. For this section, the specific release form, duly completed and signed, must be attached and can be downloaded from alberoandronico.net.
12. Section M (M1 narrative short film in Italian or in a foreign language, the latter requiring Italian subtitles; M2 video, documentary, music video, videodance, podcast, reel, videopoetry, which will also compete in the special M.A.V. ranking) requires the submission of works on a free theme with a maximum duration of 15 minutes, including titles. The author assumes full responsibility for the footage produced, including the use of non-original music protected by copyright, and for all civil and criminal liability related to the film produced, and declares to have legal availability of the film/video, authorising its public screening without claiming any compensation, and releasing the Alberoandronico Association from any present or future liability. The Association reserves the right to use the submitted works exclusively for cultural purposes, without any remuneration being due to the author. For this section, the specific release form, duly completed and signed, must be attached and can be downloaded from alberoandronico.net.
13. Section N requires the submission of a pictorial work on a free theme, created using any technique (to be specified), for which a high-resolution reproduction must be sent and must not bear the name of the author or any other identifying mark. Evaluation will be based on the photograph. Award-winning authors may be requested to exhibit the work during the Award Ceremony.
14. A participation fee (to cover organisational, administrative and promotional costs) of €20 (twenty euros) per work is required, to be paid by bank transfer to IBAN POSTE IT44J0760103200000076556059 (or corresponding postal account no. 76556059) in the name of the Alberoandronico Association.
15. The works must be submitted by 30 June 2026, alternatively:
a) by email, attaching the entry form and proof of payment of the participation fee (for Sections L and M, also the specific release form), to: inediti@alberoandronico.net for Sections A, B, C, D, F, G, H and I, as a single anonymous file in Word or PDF format; editi@alberoandronico.net for Section E (ebooks only), in PDF format; fotografia@alberoandronico.net for Section L, in JPEG or PNG format named with the title of the photograph; cortometraggi@alberoandronico.net for Section M, by sending a link to a streaming server where the work can be viewed; pittura@alberoandronico.net for Section N, in JPEG or PNG format named with the title of the work;
b) by ordinary post (excluding Sections L, M and N) to Premio Alberoandronico – Via Teresa Gnoli 42/44 – 00135 Rome, Italy, enclosing in the package 4 copies of the work (only one of which must bear the name, surname, section entered and signature; for Section E the signature is not required), the entry form and proof of payment of the participation fee.
16. The signing of the entry form constitutes, for all intents and purposes, authorisation for the publication of the work in the Anthology, should it be among the winning or selected works, without prejudice to the author’s copyright, which remains with the entrant.
17. The Jury will select the works worthy of publication in an Anthology. The terms of inclusion will be communicated to each selected author. From among those selected, the Jury will choose the winners of the Alberoandronico National Prize.
18. The Jury, whose decision is final and not subject to appeal, will be composed of critics and figures from the cultural world and will be announced at the Award Ceremony to be held in Rome. All selected participants will be informed of the date, place and time of the ceremony.
19. For authors who are not personally present or represented by proxy at the Award Ceremony, prizes and diplomas may be sent, at their own expense, only upon express request to the Secretariat. Participation implies acceptance of all the rules set out in these regulations, which may be subject to changes due to organisational requirements, without in any case altering their validity.
20. In accordance with current privacy legislation, participants are informed that their addresses and personal data will be used exclusively for the Prize, the publication of the Anthology and the other activities of the Association (EU Regulation 2016/679 GDPR, Legislative Decree 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018).
