Premios Claqueta Fidec 2020 ()

The Claqueta Awards were born in 2011 to promote the efforts of new talents and students from film schools around the world, and to promote film culture in the city of Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona).

It is a non-profit event that has the support of different public institutions, social entities and private sponsors.

The Claqueta awards, not only exhibit, also perform various events such as meetings with artists and students, academic conferences, debates, among others. It is an interesting way to approach and connect the works to the public.

The Claqueta Awards have been selecting the best cinema pieces around the world for 9 years to exhibit at the festival, promoting the development of cinema with a clear international character.

Following the film projection, the jury will be award the following prizes:

1. Participation

‣ Fiction shortfilms of any production format and nationality, directed to all audiences and produced by Film Schools, Film Academies, Universities or entities destined for audiovisual training, drama and / or performing arts, may participate.

2. Requirements

‣ The short films must have been produced after January 1, 2019.

‣ The short films must have been directed by students who are currently studying or have completed audiovisual studies, not before January 1, 2019, in the short film production process.

‣ The duration may not exceed 20 minutes.

‣ Each author may submit one short film.

‣ Productions not filmed in Spanish and / or Catalan must present their subtitled works in Spanish or English.

‣ The authors will be responsible for the audiovisual rights of their works.

3. Registration

‣ In order to enter the selection, the organization must have received before May 29, 2020 from those interested in participating in the festival the following documents:

- Registration form duly completed.
- Copy of the DVD or Bluray movie.
- Photocopy of CIF / NIF / Passport of person / entity requesting the film in the register of candidates for festival selection.

‣ The short film in multimedia format, as well as the documentation, must be registered and uploaded to the festival registration portal: www.festhome.com

‣ In the same way, if documentation and short film are preferred, they can be sent by regular mail to the Festival Directorate:

‣ Physical copies of the films presented will be held by the festival for
its incorporation into its archive.

4. Selection

‣ The selection of the films will be carried out by an organization committee, under strict jury criteria.

‣ The decision of the selection committee is final.

‣ The copies will be sent accompanied by promotional and advertising material, being duly authorized the organization of the festival for its use as soon as it has to do with the promotion of the event and the participation of the film in it.

‣ The selected films will be shown in public sessions in the designated place, at the times and dates that appear in the official program of the festival or, as the case may be, according to the organization of the festival.

5. Jury

‣ The jury will be composed of representatives of local institutions and the world of cinema.

‣ The decision of this jury will be announced at the FIDEC 2020 CLAQUETA AWARDS Gala, which will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020.

‣ Its members undertake to keep reservations about their decisions until the official awards ceremony.

‣ The jury's decision will be final.

6. Awards

After viewing all the films, the jury will award the following prizes:

Each of the winning short films will be awarded a statue created for the occasion and other prizes to be determined to be announced at the time.

* The prizes for the BEST ACTRESS AND ACTOR REVELATION, may only be awarded to actresses and actors who are in training, studying drama or similar art and failing that they have completed their studies no earlier than January 1, 2019.

7. Acceptance of the rules

‣ Registration implies the acceptance of these rules and the decisions of the organization, selection committee and jury of the festival.

‣ Any question not foreseen in the rules will be resolved by the festival organization.

General conditions

‣ DVD, BluRay or video files of the unselected films will become part of the audiovisual archive of the festival, and may be used, prior communication to the producer, for display in events parallel to the festival.

‣ The producers of the selected short films authorize the use of a fragment of the works (maximum three minutes), for dissemination as an informative matter in any media, including the Internet, for which they may provide a copy in .mov format,. avi, mp4, at the time it is necessary.

‣ The organization reserves the right to exhibit during the festival the films presented in the framework it deems appropriate, regardless of the place that appears in the previous promotion of the festival and on its own bases.

‣ The authors of the selected works to contest, previous communication, could be invited to participate in the festival.
