The Talavera de la Reina International Film Festival – Pávez Awards is launching its first call for pitching proposals, as part of the Industry Days, which will take place on 17 and 18 October 2026 in Talavera de la Reina.
The initiative has been created to support the development of new short films, strengthen their artistic, technical and financial viability, and connect their teams with professionals from the film industry. The conference will combine a series of masterclasses with a final presentation of the projects to a professional jury.
The organisers will select five projects. Their teams will be provided with tools to review and improve their proposals, prepare their presentations and present their projects in a clear, engaging and professional manner.

Cash Prizes: 500€

- A direct grant of 500 euros (five hundred euros) awarded by the Pávez Awards to contribute to the development or production of the short film. Payment will be subject to the applicable tax regulations and to the submission of the supporting documentation requested by the organisers.

- Enrolment in the CINELEBU LAB, designed as a space offering support, visibility and promotion for works in progress within the professional ecosystem of the Lebu International Film Festival in Chile.
CINELEBU is an international festival specialising in short films and recognised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a qualifying festival for the Oscars in certain competitive categories. This status applies to the festival’s qualifying awards and does not imply that participation in the LAB in itself grants access, eligibility or nomination for the Oscars. This award will include participation in all activities of the CINELEBU LAB.

1. PURPOSE OF THE CALL FOR ENTRIES
The purpose of this call for entries is to select five short film projects to take part in the Pávez Awards Industry Days and to be in with a chance of winning the Pávez Pitch 2026 awards.
The programme aims to support the development of projects with their own distinct identity and production potential, to facilitate connections between emerging talent and industry professionals, and to generate new opportunities for training, collaboration and international distribution.

2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Short film projects currently in the development phase – specifically in the financing and/or pre-production phase – are eligible to apply.
• Fiction and documentary projects, whether live-action or animated, will be accepted.
• There are no restrictions on subject matter.
• The intended running time of the short film must not exceed 30 minutes, including credits.
• Individuals of legal age resident in Spain, creative teams and/or production companies with their place of residence or registered office in Spain may participate.
• Each individual may submit only one project.
• Production companies may submit several projects provided they are directed by different individuals.
• The person completing the registration must have the authorisation of the rest of the team and will be the sole point of contact for the organisers.
Projects that have already entered the production phase or works that have already been completed will not be accepted.
The organisers reserve the right to exclude any application that is incomplete, submitted after the deadline, or that fails to comply with these terms and conditions.

3. REGISTRATION AND DEADLINE
Registration is free of charge and must be completed by 23:59 —Spanish mainland time— on 2 October 2026.
Submission of the application implies full acceptance of these terms and conditions.

4. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
Each application must include a project dossier in a single PDF file, as well as the script or, failing that, a treatment.

The dossier must include the following:
- Project title.
- Logline and synopsis.
- Format, genre and estimated duration.
- Project description and statement of intent or artistic proposal.
- Confirmed cast (if applicable).
- Estimated budget and funding plan. Support, grants, partnerships, funding or commitments that the project has secured to date.
- Stage of development and work plan.
- A brief description of the team’s career history, filmography or CV, with particular reference to direction and production.
- Contact details (first name and surname of the contact person, email address and telephone number).
The application pack may include visual elements provided it does not exceed 25 pages.
The organisers may request additional information or documentation from shortlisted projects where necessary for their assessment.

5. PROJECT SELECTION
A committee appointed by the Pávez Awards will assess the applications and select five projects, taking into account, amongst other things, the following criteria:
- Quality, originality and coherence of the proposal.
- Artistic, technical and financial viability.
- Level of development and clarity of the work plan.
- The team’s track record, complementary skills and capacity to carry out the project.
- The project’s potential for growth, production and dissemination.
The decision will be communicated to the selected candidates by email on 5 October 2026 and may be published on the festival’s website, social media and other channels.
The selection committee’s decision is final. The organisers reserve the right to declare the call for entries void or to select fewer than five projects if they consider that the proposals received do not meet the necessary criteria.

6. PARTICIPATION IN THE INDUSTRY CONFERENCE
The project leads for the five selected projects must attend in person the Pávez Awards Industry Conference, which will take place on 17 and 18 October 2026 in Talavera de la Reina.
The programme will include masterclasses and other professional activities focused on the development, production, financing and public presentation of audiovisual projects. Attendance at the full programme and the final pitch is compulsory.
Selected projects must confirm their attendance within 48 hours of being notified. In the event of failure to respond, inability to attend or refusal to participate, the project will automatically be withdrawn and its participation cancelled. Its place may be taken by the first alternate in order of merit, if any.

Each project may be represented by a maximum of two people from the work’s directing, screenwriting and/or production team.
The Pávez Awards will cover accommodation for two members of each project for the night of Saturday 17 to Sunday 18 October 2026, as well as the meals provided by the organisers during the event.
Any dietary or accessibility requirements must be communicated in advance within the deadline specified by the organisers.

7. FINAL PITCH AND JURY
At the end of the event, the five projects will give a final pitch to a jury made up of professionals from the film industry.
Each project will have a maximum of five minutes for its presentation and a further five minutes to answer the jury’s questions.
The jury will select the project with the greatest viability, placing particular emphasis on the strength of the proposal, its budgetary feasibility, the team’s capabilities, the
production and financing strategy, its distribution potential and the quality of the presentation.
The decision will be announced at the end of the event and will be final.


8. AWARDS

9. OBLIGATIONS OF THE WINNING PROJECT OR PROJECTS
Acceptance of the prize entails the following obligations:
1. To use the financial support for the development or production of the winning project.
2. To include, in a prominent position, in the credits of the finished work and in its main
promotional materials, the statement: “Winning project of the Pávez Pitch 2026”,
accompanied by the logo provided by the organisers.
3. To keep the Pávez Awards informed of the project’s main progress and to notify them of its completion.
4. Once the short film has been completed, it must be entered into the relevant edition of the Talavera de la Reina International Film Festival – Pávez Awards.
Unjustified failure to comply with these obligations may result in the forfeiture of the prize and, where applicable, the full or partial repayment of the financial grant, following a hearing with the beneficiary.

10. AUTHORSHIP, RIGHTS AND LIABILITY
Participants declare that they hold the necessary rights, permissions and authorisations regarding the texts, images and other materials included in their application, and that their submission does not infringe the rights of third parties.
The organisers do not acquire any intellectual property rights over the projects submitted. Participants authorise the use of the information, images and materials provided solely for the purposes of managing the call for entries and publicising the selected projects and the Industry Days via the festival’s channels.
The organisers do not guarantee that participants will secure funding, production agreements, distribution deals or contracts as a result of taking part in the Industry Days.


11. IMAGE AND COMMUNICATION
Those selected authorise the recording and dissemination of their image and voice during the Industry Days and the final pitch for informational, promotional and archival purposes relating to the Pávez Awards – Talavera de la Reina International Film Festival, without any territorial restrictions and via the website, social media, the press and the festival’s other channels.
The organisers may publish the title, synopsis, names of the team and other non-confidential information included in the application pack. Should there be any particularly sensitive or
confidential information, this must be expressly identified in the applicat

12. DATA PROTECTION
Data controller: Asociación Cultural Trax Trex Trix, with tax identification number (NIF) G45641370 and registered address at Calle Adalid Meneses, 2, 45600 Talavera de la Reina (Toledo).
Personal data will be processed for the purposes of managing the call for entries, selecting projects, organising the conference, administering the award and publicising the festival’s activities. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of the contractual relationship arising from registration and consent for those uses where required.
The data will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfil these purposes and to comply with applicable legal obligations. It will not be disclosed to third parties except where required by
law or where necessary for the administration of the prize and participation in CINELEBU.

13. ACCEPTANCE, AMENDMENTS AND RESOLUTION OF ISSUES
Participation implies full acceptance of these rules and of the decisions taken by the selection committee and the jury within their respective remits.
The organisers may amend dates, timetables, venues or operational details where there are justified reasons or in cases of force majeure, giving as much notice as possible and endeavouring to preserve the purpose of the competition.
Any matter not covered by these rules shall be resolved by the organisers.
