The awards and recognitions range across different categories, enhancing every aspect of film production, from direction to screenplay, from editing to soundtrack.

Main awards:
"Colosseo d'Oro" Award for Best Short Film: awarded to the best unreleased short film presented at the Festival, evaluated for excellence in direction, narrative and technical innovation.
"Ettore Scola" Award: awarded to the best work among the short films produced in Italy and/or by Italian directors.

"Colosseo d'Argento" Award for Best Screenplay: awarded to the most original and challenging screenplay among all categories.
"Colosseo d'Argento" Award for Best Female Performer: awarded to the best actress.
"Colosseo d'Argento" Award for Best Male Performer: awarded to the best actor.
Other awards for specific Sections and Thematic Categories:
"Mediterraneo" Award: awarded to the best short film directed and produced in the Mediterranean area.
"Best Documentary or Docufilm" Award: recognition for the best achievement in the documentary and docufilm category.
"Animation" Award: awarded to the best animated film.
"Faith, Fragility and Solidarity Commitment" Award: awarded to the best film that explores themes related to spirituality, social inclusion and human resilience.

Registration Procedure:
Directors interested in participating in the Roma Film Corto must register exclusively through the following online platforms:

Sending works via email is not permitted, except for production companies that present multiple works. Works registered and sent via email by individual authors will not be taken into consideration.

To complete the registration, selected participants must provide:
Completed participation form
Release signed by the film rights holder
Film synopsis
Biographies of the director and main collaborators
At least two scene photos and a photo of the director or artist
Trailer of the work
Sending Videos of the Registered Works:
Each author can send a maximum of two videos of the registered works for each section. The videos must be sent in Mp4 or MOV Full-HD format via downloadable links. Works not in Italian must be subtitled in Italian. Works without subtitles will not be admitted to the selection.
Deadlines and Fees for Registration:
Registrations are open until 23:59 on July 15, 2025. Registration is free, but it is necessary to respect the deadlines indicated to ensure the evaluation of the work by the jury.
Privacy, Rights and Obligations:
Participants accept that the personal information provided may be used by the festival organization for the management of the competition, the communication of the selections and the promotion of the works. The organization reserves the right to use extracts of the selected works (up to 60 seconds) for promotional activities related to the festival, including publications on websites, social media and press materials.
Participants guarantee that the works sent do not violate legal regulations, copyright or privacy. The organization is not responsible for damage, loss or theft of the materials sent.
Selection Process:
The works will be evaluated by the artistic direction and specialized selection committees based on originality, technical and artistic quality and relevance of the theme. Only a limited number of works will be selected for the final competition, based on the scores assigned during the preliminary evaluation phase.
