RTV International Film Festival celebrates bold, original and emerging voices in filmmaking from around the world. Founded in Canada, the festival welcomes independent filmmakers, students and creators working across traditional and new forms of visual storytelling.
The inaugural 2026 edition will be held online. Selected films will receive recognition through RTV Official Selection, Finalist and Winner laurels, with selected projects also eligible to be featured on RTV.com for international discovery and promotion.
Awards may include:
Best Short Film
Best Student Film
Best Documentary Short
Best Animation
Best AI Film
Best Music Video
Best Experimental Film / Micro Short
Audience Choice Award
Selected films may also receive Official Selection and Finalist recognition.
Submissions are open to filmmakers worldwide.
Short films of up to 40 minutes, including credits, are eligible.
Films in all languages are welcome. Films not in English must include English subtitles.
The submitter must own or control all necessary rights to submit the film.
Submission does not grant RTV the right to publicly exhibit the full film outside the festival selection and judging process unless separate permission is provided by the rights holder.
By submitting, entrants authorize RTV International Film Festival to use submitted posters, stills, trailers, synopses, director biographies, director photos, and other promotional materials for festival promotion, RTV film profiles, and festival-related publicity.
Participation in any RTV Online Showcase involving public presentation of the full film is optional and requires separate authorization from the rights holder.
RTV International Film Festival reserves the right to determine Official Selections, Finalists, and Award Winners.

All selection and award decisions made by RTV International Film Festival are final.

Open to short films of all genres from around the world. Films must have a maximum running time of 40 minutes, including credits.

Open to student films from around the world. The director must have been enrolled in a school, college, university, or recognized educational program at the time the film was completed. Films may be of any genre and must not exceed 40 minutes, including credits.
If selected as a Finalist or Award Winner, the filmmaker may be required to provide valid proof of student status covering the period when the film was completed.
