Festival start: 10 June 2016      Festival end: 12 June 2016

The association Mente Acrobatica in partnership with CGIL Taranto organizes for June 2016 the 3rd edition of the International Festival of short films “Taranto in short”.

The festival is divided in FOUR sections:

• INTERNATIONAL (dedicated to short films from all world nations excluding Italy with the requirement of English or italian subtitles );

• NATIONAL (dedicated to short films from Italy);

• WORK AND WORKERS’ RIGHTS (dedicated to all short films from all world nations including Italy dealing with work and workers’ rights with the requirement of English or italian subtitles ).

• ANIMATION (dedicated to all animated short films for an audience of children aged between 8 and 13, from all world nations including Italy with the requirement of English or Italian subtitles).

Every director or producer can compete with each job to ONE section of the festival that
must be specified during the submission.

AWARDS

The festival direction will elect a qualified jury that will give the following prizes:

- Prize “Taranto in short 2016” to the best short film of INTERNATIONAL section.

- Prize “Taranto in short 2016” to the best short film of NATIONAL section.
- Prize “Taranto in short 2015” to the best short film of WORK AND WORKERS’ RIGHTS section.

A selected jury of children from primary school will give the following prize:

- Prize “Taranto in short 2016” to the best short film of ANIMATION section.


1) The best short film of every section will receive a cash award obtained from the total ammount of the entry fees.

2) The jury will give also the following honorable mentions:

- Best soundtrack
- Best editing
- Best actor
- Best actress


4) The jury can also give special prizes to worthy works not rewarded in the other categories.

5) The Festival will select a popular jury who will give the Prize of the public.

A) Regulation Taranto in short


–INTERNATIONAL section


1) films from all world nations excluding Italy produced after 1st January 2014, can participate. all fiction genres are admitted, except documentaries.


2) The theme is free. Registration can be done paying a fee of EUR 5.00 within 5th MAY, 2016 through the following platform:

3) The works must have a maximum duration of 25 minutes.


4) The works must have English subtitles


5) In case of selection, release (Annex A) completed and signed and works in DVD or
HD file must be sent before 30th May, 2016 (it will be the postmark) to the

5) Every author can participate with one work.


6) Films dvd will not be returned and will take part of festival archive.


7) The pre-selection of films is at the incontestable discretion of festival
artistic direction. The selected works will be announced in the website www.tarantoinshort.com .
Videos technically not able to guarantee a good public projection can be refused by artistic direction


B) Regulation Taranto in short – NATIONAL section


1) Italian Films produced after the 1st January 2014 can participate.


2) The examination theme is COMEDY. Registration can be done paying a fee of EUR5.00 within 5th May 2016 through the following platforms:

3) The works must have a maximum duration of 25 minutes.


4) In case of selection, release (Annex A) completed and signed and works in DVD or HD file must be sent before 30th May, 2016 (it will be the postmark) to the following address:

1) The Italian and foreign films produced after the 1st January 2012 can participate.
Documentaries are not accepted.

2) The theme is related to work or workers’ rights. Registration can be done paying
a fee of EUR 5.00 within the 5th May 2016 through the following platforms:

3) The works must have a maximum duration of 25 minutes


4) Foreign works must have English or Italian subtitles.


5) In case of selection, release (Annex A) completed and signed and works in DVD or

Every author who sbmits his work to our festival automatically will approve this regulation.

NB. The staff reserves the right of changing this regulation in any moment and for any reason.
