TAXCO Mexico, light city and Magic Town, one of the most impressive locations in the world, invites you to the 8th EDITION OF TAXCO FILM FEST 2023.

The TAXCO FILM FEST 2023 will deliver a Participation Diploma to all those selected in the competitive section, and for the winners will be delivered the "Silver Ring", new symbol of the Festival.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION SHORT FILMS

ANNOUNCEMENT

The objective of TAXCO FILM FEST 2023 is to provide a space for the exhibition of quality cinema, trying to bring together filmmakers and those who wish to join this group of creators to provoke synergies. THE VIII EDITION OF TAXCO FILM FEST 2023, will be held from April 21 to 29, 2023 in the City Ligth and Magical Town of Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero.

CATEGORIES IN COMPETITION.
FICTION SHORT FILM EXPERIMENTAL SHORT FILM ANIMATIONAL SHORT FILM DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM.
This edition will have in competition only SHORT FILMS with a maximum duration of 20 min, including credits in film, video or digital format, whose production is after January 1, 2012.

The movie in HD (1920 x 1080), .MOV (Apple prores), .mp4 (MPEG-4) file. H.264 codec for video.
The film must not contain subtitles in another language, unless the film contains subtitles in Spanish because it is spoken in another language.

DISPLAY.

The Festival Management will agree on the order and the date of exhibition of each work. The registered works may be selected for samples out of competition.

TERMS.

A. Entries must be accompanied by digital viewing copies (screeners).

B. The registration for works from Mexico and other countries will cost $ 10 US dollars, which will be deposited through the FESTHOME registration platform.

C. There is no registration limit for the number of films per director or production entity.

D. Video clips, commercial works or for political and / or religious propaganda purposes are not accepted.

E. To be admitted, the materials must be presented in Spanish. If the language of the production is different from Spanish, it must be sent with subtitles in english or Spanish.

6.- SELECTION AND JURY.

The selection of the works will be the responsibility of the Festival Organization by means of a jury made up of professionals from the cinematographic medium, whose names will be announced in due course. Its ruling will be final.

7.- awards.

The TAXCO FILM FEST 2023 will deliver a Participation Diploma to all those selected in the competitive section, and the “Silver Ring” will be awarded to the winners, an artistic piece made by master goldsmiths from Taxco, the world capital of silver art.

8.- The deadline for registration and sending materials is December 31, 2022.

9.- Any shipping cost of the works participating in the competitive section, from their origin to the address of this organization, will be borne by the participants. The Festival will not bear the expenses derived from the sending of other advertising materials etc.

10.- Once sent to the call, the film cannot be withdrawn.

11.- In no case will the exhibition rights of a work be paid.

12.- The selected films are eligible to be part of the itinerant samples of the festival after the framework of the festival.
