We are the organizing team of Taiwan’s 6th Da-Ho Award Microfilm Competition—a leading short film contest that annually receives over 300 submissions and awards over NT$1,000,000 (approx. USD $30,000) in prizes. Rooted in Taiwan, the Da-Ho Award is dedicated to celebrating short films that explore kindness, inspiration, family, and social care.

This year, we are proud to launch a new Asian International Category, aimed at amplifying stories across Asia and encouraging cross-border creative exchange. This category offers 4 prizes totaling USD $10,000.

Cash Prizes: 8,596$

Legacy of Love Award (1): USD $5,000

Honor Award (1): USD $3,000

Emerging Talent Awards (2): USD $1,000 each

4 prizes totaling USD $10,000.

1. Film Length: 3–10 minutes (excluding credits)

2. Film Title: Within 10 Chinese characters or 30 bytes

3. Content Requirement: Must center around the “Love Legacy” theme and reflect one or more of its five subcategories

4. Genre: All genres welcome – including drama, documentary, and animation.AI-generated content must not be the primary medium

● Up to 30% of the film may incorporate AI-generated elements (e.g., sound, music, images)

● If requested, participants must provide
documentation confirming the work is not primarily AI-generated

5. Filming Equipment: No restrictions; smartphones are allowed. All footage must be shot in landscape (horizontal) format

6. Technical Requirements:

● Content must comply with Taiwan’s “Motion Picture Classification Act” (suitable for general audiences)

● One cover image ( film stills acceptable)

● Minimum resolution: 1920×1080 (Full HD)

● Retain the original file in .mp4 or .mov format for verification

● English closed captions (CC) are mandatory; bilingual subtitles are encouraged but not required for scoring

● Submissions must be original works produced after Sept. 1, 2024; previously awarded works are not eligible
