Festival start: 22 May 2026      Festival end: 24 May 2026

Ti-Kreyollywood Special SILEK is a special edition of our short and medium-length film screenings, organized as part of SILEK 2026 (International Book Fair of the Kreyolphone Space) taking place from May 22-24, 2026 in Paris. This edition creates a bridge between cinema and literature within the Kreyollywood ecosystem.

Note: If your film was produced after January 1, 2021, it can also be submitted to the Kreyol International Film Festival (KIFF 2026) which will take place from September 26-30, 2026 in Paris.

Cash Prizes: 50€

Audience award

The associations Les Ponts de l'Espoir (Hope & Bridges) and Au-Delà de l'Horizon are pleased to announce a special call for films for the Ti-Kreyollywood screening that will take place as part of SILEK (International Book Fair of the Kreyolphone Space), from May 22-24, 2026 in Paris.

This special edition is part of the commemoration of the abolition of slavery. On May 22, 1848, the enslaved people of Martinique seized their freedom through uprising, forcing abolition before the official decree arrived from Paris. The entire SILEK is placed under the sign of this memory and this reclaimed voice.

A bridge between cinema and literature

Ti-Kreyollywood Special SILEK creates a link between SILEK (book fair) and KIFF (Kreyol International Film Festival), the two flagship events of the Kreyollywood ecosystem.

Who can participate?

Ti-Kreyollywood is open to all filmmakers, regardless of origin or nationality, whether Kreyolphone or not. We seek to highlight the cultures, histories, philosophies and environments of Creole worlds.

Your film is welcome if it explores, directly or metaphorically, themes related to Creole Worlds and reflects the authenticity and depth of these cultures. Whether you are an established or emerging director, we invite you to share your vision and voice through your art.

Preferred themes for this edition

For this special edition linked to SILEK and the commemoration of abolition, particular attention will be paid to films dealing with:

→ Literature and orality (adaptations, portraits of writers, transmission)
→ Video-poetry (echoing the "Voix du 22 mai" / "Voices of May 22" competition)
→ The memory of slavery and abolition
→ Women and resistance in slave and post-slavery societies
→ Freedom, resistance, heritage

Filming locations and perspectives

We enthusiastically welcome films shot in any region of the world by Kreyolphones. Special attention will be given to works produced and shot in Kreyolphone regions such as Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Réunion, Haiti, Mauritius, Seychelles, Louisiana and others.

Whether your films are rooted in traditional narratives or explore contemporary perspectives, your contribution is essential to enriching dialogue and understanding around Creole cultures.

Diversity of characters

We encourage the participation of films whose main and supporting characters are of Kreyolphone origin and thus highlight the diversity of communities.

Language: Creole original version with French subtitles

For this edition, films in original Creole version with French subtitles will be preferred.

Accepted formats

Short and medium-length films: fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, video-poetry.
No restriction on duration or year of production.

Why participate?

Ti-Kreyollywood Special SILEK is an exceptional platform to showcase your work, connect with cinema and publishing professionals, and participate in an event that celebrates the diversity and cultural richness of the Kreyolphone world. It is a unique opportunity to shine a light on your creation and contribute to a better understanding and appreciation of Creole cultures.

We are looking for works that challenge, educate and inspire, while celebrating the universality of Creole expression.

Submission deadline: April 22, 2026

Submit your films and become an integral part of this unique cinematic adventure!
