Festival start: 24 September 2021      Festival end: 26 September 2021

Videoclub 85 has been open for more than 30 years in Gijón. It is one of the few video clubs in Spain that has its own projection room. That is why we want to support the culture and creation of audiovisual material that continues to fill the cinemas with the magic of cinema. Thus, the first edition of this short film contest is born, where all kinds of genres will be able to participate. There will be a section destined to Asturian cinema, to promote and give visibility to the great amount of works made in Asturias.

A minimum of 2 awards are established. One for the national section and atención least one for the Asturian selection.

All of them will receive a trophy, certificate and a voucher to access the projection room to see the videoclub. Special mentions may also be made.

The first edition of Videoclub 85 en corto will take place on August 20, 21 and 22, 2021. The registration period will be open from June 16 to July 28, 2021. All types of genres will be admitted to the competition as long as the duration does not exceed 30 minutes and the content of the short films does not offend people's sensibilities. The short Films must be made after January of 2020.A jury made up of professionals from the sector will be in charge of deciding the winners and all the finalist short films will be screened to the public in the screening room of videoclub 85.

There will be a specific section for productions made in Asturias where works shot in Asturian and Spanish will be accepted indistinctly. Likewise, the national section will be able to show short films in Spanish or english, as long as the latter contain an embedded subtitle track.

Participants accept the rules and confirm that they are in possession of the rights to all the material that is not sent, in which case claims for copyright would not be addressed to the festival in any case. Prizes are established for each section. Likewise, they could be left deserted or independent prizes or mentions could be added depending on the number of participants and the quality of the works received.

The awarded short films will receive their corresponding trophy and diploma as well as a voucher for screenings at the videoclub's cinema.
The festival may publish images or short fragments of the works for their promotion on social networks but they will not be broadcasted in open through any kind of platform. Access to the facilities to enjoy the screenings will be fixed by the possible restrictions that may occur during the festival. The organization of the festival will be in charge of communicating from August 10, 2021 the selection of the finalist works that will be part of the festival.
