Can you tell a story in 3 minutes?

We are looking for films of 3 mins or under, they can be shot on your phone or on a camera.

Your film will be part of the Wirksworth Arts Festival, an internationally renowned festival which this years celebrates 25 years. The films will show on the fringe of the main festival.

The films will be shown on the 15th Sept 2019 at various venues around the town. Winning films to be shown at the renowned independent cinema later in the evening.

We want to actively encourage young filmmakers to submit their work, therefore under 18's and 18 to 25 years of age will receive free submission.

Films must be no longer than 3 minutes, credits must not extend longer than 20 seconds after the film is finished, which must end by 0.03:00.

All film genres are accepted: There is no set theme for this years festival, so let your imagination run wild!

Please make sure you own the rights to any music, stills etc that appears in your film. Failure to do so will mean we cannot show your film!

Selected films will have at least one screening during the festival. There is a award reception before the screening of selected films. Filmmakers who attend may be asked to introduce their films.

Laurels will be given for: Official Selection. Winner laurels.

Films will be judged by professionals in the fields of filmmaking.

All work must be easily accessed and downloaded, created within the last year.

If not in English, then there must be English subtitles. All work must arrive at a point before the festival in an MP4 format.

Films must be 3 minutes or under in total length.

All genres accepted

Not accepted are: Political/Religious ads, gratuitous violence and abuse, or pornography.

If accepted, filmmakers are required to allow the festival to use trailers, clips and film information for promotions.

When entering this festival, we ask you to allow us to use your film in any Best of the Best re-runs of the festival seasons through out the life of the festival. All films chosen for any future screening will first have a notification to the filmmaker and/or the producer. No film will be screen after the festival in another venue unless the producer or filmmaker is notified and agrees to a future screening.
