Ana Maghribi.a Contest: express your talent in video

2019 marks the sixth edition of the international short film competition Ana Maghribi.a, organized by the French Institute of Morocco, in partnership with Crédit du Maroc. Young people under 30 are invited to shoot a short film of less than 90 seconds on the theme of the Commitment. They have until October 6 to post their videos on the website www.concoursanamaghribi.org. They will be judged by a jury of film and audiovisual professionals chaired this year by film producer Lamia Chraibi. Several prizes are up for grabs.

New edition, new theme

The contest Ana Maghribi.a invites this year young people to question the theme of the Commitment. They will be able to explore this notion from a personal or collective point of view: to commit today to guarantee tomorrow. Defend a common planet and make sure to transmit it unharmed to future generations. Commit to change it too, when our humanity is challenged by inequalities. Those between the countries and those in front of our door, in our neighborhood or our city. To become involved locally then, to be an actor of a territory. Consider the poor and build a more just society together. Engage collectively, traveling the world or from your computer. Join connected communities, exchange ideas and participate in the dissemination of knowledge that is constantly renewed. Engage for and with others. And then, commit to yourself. Believe in your dreams and find the confidence and daring to achieve them. Dare to meet the challenges. Innovate in the economy and the community or be the change that we want to see in the world.

A jury of professionals will evaluate the quality of the films

After the director Hicham Lasri in 2018, it is the turn of the film producer Lamia Chraibi to chair the jury. Beside her will be actress Fatym Layachi, actress Sonia Okacha, deputy general director of JawJab Younès Lazrak and communication director of Crédit du Maroc Mouna Benrhanem. The jury will award several prizes to the most creative and original videos.

Criteria for participation

The contest Ana Maghribi.a is open to young people under thirty, passionate or lovers of videos. Participants will create a 90-second video in the format of their choice to be uploaded on the www.concoursanamaghribi.org platform until 6 October. The idea expressed in the film will be the first criterion of selection, the realization and the technical quality will be taken into account in a second time.

As a reminder, 193 films were sent during the 2018 edition of Ana Maghribi.a from all regions of Morocco as well as France. 6 prizes were awarded to the winners at a ceremony organized at the French Institute of Casablanca.

About the Competition

Launched in 2014 by the French Institute of Morocco, the international short film competition Ana Maghribi.a was created to provide an area of free expression and creativity for young people without constraints of means. This contest aims to question young people on themes that concern them: the identity, the status of women, climate change, openness to the world, living the city together or meeting(s).
