Ombre Elettriche is a young film festival dedicated to films from Asian, African and Latin American continent.

The first edition will be held in Cicciano, Napoli (Southern Italy) from the 17th to the 19th of May 2024.

The festival was created by a group of young people under 25 with the aim of creating a bridge between culture of continents and countries that have always been plagued by serious prejudices and stereotypes that have filtered their reality from a Western point of view. We prefer the short film form in order to be able to give voice to young authors - and not - who succeed through the language of film, to create interest and debate on political, social and less committed topics with the aim of shaking the viewer's conscience, carrying forward the idea of cinema as a subversive art.

We want to reach especially those who are not used to this type of initiatives and are not familiar with these cultural contents.

Awards & Prizes:
The films admitted in the Official Selection will compete for the following prizes:

- BEST INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM
- BEST CAMPANIA FILM
- AUDIENCE AWARD

1) TERMS AND CONDITIONS

- The production country of the films needs must be part of the Asian, African, Latin American continent. Films in co-production with countries from other continents are accepted.

- The short film must have english subtitles

- All themes are allowed.

- The maximum length will be 15 minutes (including credits).

- Only those films produced after January 1st of 2022 will be accepted.

- All formats will be accepted.

- There are no limits to the number of entries a filmmaker may enter, but these have to be submitted separately.

- The festival will also accept films that already premiered in theatres, in other festivals or are available online.

- Selected filmmakers will be invited by the festival. The latter will not assume the costs of travel and board/accommodation.

- The selected films will have to send the supplementary material when contacted by the Festival Direction.

- High res. short film poster or shot from it

- Synopsis of the short film

- Digital close-up photo of the director

- Director's biography (maximum 500 characters)

- The submitter owns all the rights to the film

- Even the winning works that will not be present at the event can send us a video greetings.

- Ombre Elettriche can use trailer/teaser/film poster/stills for promotional purpose (but do not release, under any form or circumstances, the full film)

- Filmmakers who got selected must send copy of the film without subtitles and .srt file with english subtitles.
