The North Jefferson Independent Film Series began in October of 2013 as a way for Alabama filmmakers to have a way to get their work screened.

We will host screenings 3-6 times each year that will showcase Alabama talent.

We have recently began accepting films worldwide.

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES:

Alabama Feature and Short Films
- Films that have a running time of 60 - 130 minutes
- Short films have a running time of 59 minutes or less.
- To be qualified as an Alabama film, you or a member of your cast must be from Alabama, or you shot your film, or a portion of your film, in the state of Alabama.
- Entry Fee - $0.00

Non-Alabama/International Feature and Short Films
- Films that have a running time of 60 - 130 minutes
- Short films have a running time of 59 minutes or less.
- Non-Alabama Films/International Films are any films that have no affiliation to the state of Alabama.
- Entry fee - $5.00

Awards and certificates are given for
Best Alabama Film
Best Non Alabama Film
Best Cinematography
Best Editing
Best Directing
Best Writing

Films must either be in English or have English subtitles.

Entry fee for Non-Alabama films and international films is $5.00.
There is no entry fee for Alabama films.
To be considered an Alabama film it must have an Alabama connection. Films do not have to have been made in Alabama but must have someone from the main cast or main crew (writer, director, editor, DP) from Alabama.
To be eligible to screen at the North Jefferson Independent Film Series, you MUST submit to the correct category.

Films of any length are accepted.
Films do not have to be new.

Narrative and documentary shorts and features welcome.
