FREEDOM SHORTS IS PHILADELPHIA’S LARGEST AND MOST ACTIVE SHORT FILM FESTIVAL.

Our successful event draws hundreds of films enthusiasts, directors, producers, actors and artists from around the tri-state area and even worldwide.

FREEDOM SHORTS IS HELD BI-ANNUALLY AT THE HISTORICAL TROCADERO THEATER AND CURRENTLY EXPANDING TO INCLUDE PHILAMOCA AND CINEMUG SCREENINGS FOR OUR 5TH YEAR. It is the hands-down the best opportunity to view the best short films from around the globe. Our selections has included world premieres from 5 continents, academy award winning short films, Sundance award winning films, and other countless and award winning film premieres.

AS A PHILADELPHIA NATIVE AND STRONG SUPPORTER OF THE LOCAL FILM COMMUNITY.

We strive to show and bring out all the local talent to support each other as well as support all the filmmakers from out of town showcasing their work. The festival has for 5 years been a launching pad for cross promoting what Philly has to offer the film world and what the world has to offer for the budding Philadelphia Film Community.

Event runs for 4 hours, with a big networking party going on in the lobby area. News outlets and press are active at this event. Celebrities from all walks of life have shown up at this event. We are only accepting online screeners. There are a variety of ways to submit your screener to us (YouTube, Vimeo, or through one of the online submission services). This will SAVE YOU MONEY!

ELIGIBILITY

1. All films must be sent in digital upon selected. We will let you know what format we need. We do not run films by DVD. To submit your film we ask you to use YouTube, Vimeo, or through one of the online submission services). This will SAVE YOU MONEY!

2.Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry into the Festival and to use all music, images and content in the entry.

3. All entries must be either in English or contain English subtitles. Non-English entries submitted without subtitles or with supplementary printed translations will be
automatically disqualified.

4.NO Fee Waivers will be offered. The submission fee is already punk rock cheap.

5. All Decisions by judges, and The Average Superstar Films team will be final and NO REFUND of entry fee will be permitted

6. If film is selected and not received by due date it will be removed from the show with NO REFUND.
