MERCY TO UNIVERSE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION ()

On 18th January 2016, the purposes of the “3rd MERCY TO UNIVERSE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION” to be organized by AL-SIRA FOUNDATION are about our prophet Mohamed’s life and universal messages , to create awareness in the movie industry for making short film and to support the short film makers.

Subject of this year; “Perfect Faith Perfect Human”. All applicants must be directly or indirectly releated to this subject.

2nd Prize : 15.000₺(TurkishLira)
3hd Prize : 10.000₺(TurkishLira)
Sponsor Prize : 5.000₺(TurkishLira)
Mention Prize : 4.000₺(TurkishLira)
Jury Special Prize : 3.000₺(TurkishLira)
Al-Sira Foundation Prize : 3.000₺(TurkishLira)

PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS


a) Type of fiction or animation films can apply to the competition. All the films in the competition shall be evaluated in the same category. There must be at least 15 applicants at the competition. if this number is not reached, the competition shall not begin.


b) Films which is 35mm or 16mm or video technic or digital technology can participate.


c) All producers and directors from Turkey and foreign countries can participate to competition.


d) Productions of maximum 20 minutes can participate to competition. If the Jury requires that can be flexible about the duration limit. Competitors can apply with more than one films but must fill a seperate application form for each film.


e) Films that completed after the 1st January 2015 can apply for the competition. Having participated in National or international festival/competition does not constitute an impediment to participation in the competion.


f) Movies which participated in “MERCY to UNIVERSE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION” can not participated in competition again.


g) The language of the film must be Turkish or English or Arabic.


h) Who want to participate the competition must print and fill in application form (wet signed) and send the form with other materials to the following address until the 28th October 2016

The other materials for the completion of the application;

1-Record of the film must be 720p or 1080p HD. (“.mp4”, “.mov”, “.avi” or “.mpeg” formats)

2-At least two photo from film. (300dpi, “.jpeg”, min.1920x1080p)

3-Picture of director. (300dpi)

4-Trailer of the film (If any)

5-Poster of the film (If any)

(All the materials must be in same DVD and must be sent two copy.)

i) All the required materials must be sent to competition address with wet signed application form.


j) Name of the director, title of the film, duration and year of the film must be written on all copies.


k) First-degree relatives of AL-SIRA FOUNDATION workers and MERCY TO UNIVERSE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION ORGANISATION COMMITTEE can not participatete the competition.


l) DVD copies of movies that apply for competition will be not returned, shall be kept in competition archives. All the participants agree about not to ask for a fee.


m) The owners of films are applied for the competition can not withdraw their films from the competition after application deadline.


n) AL-SIRA FOUNDATION and MERCY TO UNIVERSE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION ORGANISATION COMMITTEE reserves the rights to change rules and to add new rules about this regulation.


o) AL-SIRA FOUNDATION and MERCY TO UNIVERSE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION ORGANISATION COMMITTEE reserves the rights to eliminate competitors who do not agree with rules from competition.


SPECIAL CONDITIONS


a) The films which will be kept in the archive after competition can be shown at national or international festivals(out of competition) or culturel events. All the participants agree the fims to be used, to be replicated, to be distributed , to be screened with unlimited term in social media, video sharing websites and sponsors of the competition’s websites by “AL-SIRA FOUNDATION” and organisation committee of “MERCY TO UNIVERSE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION”. “AL-SIRA FOUNDATION” will help to establish the connection between productors and TV companies, if TV companies want to broadcast the films on tv.


b) The responsibility of all of the information that is specified in the application form belongs to the person who signed. The participants, who can not be contacted because of wrong or incorrect information or not updated information, can not claim rights. Legal liability about information belongs to the person who signed.


c) The Application Form and Regulation must be signed by a member of the film team. The prize will be given to a member of the team who signed the papers.


d) The applicant, the owner of the production, shall be deemed to have any copyright about the film. (Sound, music, screen etc.) The participant warrants that it owns all intellectual property rights on the film.


1- The applicants accept and confirm that to be owner of all rights(Intellectual and Art Works Law, numbered 5846) on the film that hey own.

2- The applicants accept and confirm that they have the necessary rights on the provision and on the transfer of property rights of the film.

3- The applicants accept and confirm that do not violate any third person’s intellectual property rights.

4- The applicant accept and confirm that do not violate the publicity and privacy rights of who is not alive.

5- The applicant accept and confirm that the film does not include things that could be considered a crime according to the Turkish Penal Code (law no.5651)

6- The applicant accept and confirm that do not violate personal or property rights of any natura lor legal person.


e) The things about copyrigt that could be considered a crime that is not responsibility of the organisation team of “MERCY to UNIVERSE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION” and “AL-SIRA FOUNDATION”. If it is detected as a violation of copyright, the film will be banned from competition. Fort his reason, in the case of opening a case against me, the applicant will be responsible for all damages. The applicants accept and confirm that to pay penalty (50.000TL), if the decision of the court warrants for violations of the participant.
