The Roswell Film Festival honors International Feature and Short Films of all genres. Special Sections include: General Entry, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Independent, Documentary and New Mexico based productions.

Taking place May 19-21, 2016 the Annual Roswell Film Festival will host films, special events, panel discussions and you in the Alien Capitol of the World.

Finished films in the categories of Feature Films (running time over 60 minutes) and Short Films (running time under 60 minutes) may enter into the festival.

Entry Fee of $35. The fee for the Festival is for already completed films.

GENERAL RULES

By entering your film for consideration, you authorize your work is cleared for festival exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property therein. Entry into the festival constitutes permission to exhibit your work at the Roswell Film Festival.

Each entry must be accompanied by a completed Entry Form, paid Entry Fee and submitted for review on one of our registered submission sites. Foreign language work must be dubbed or subtitled in English.

If selected for our festival: TWO (2) DVD or BLURAY copies of the work, formatted for multi-zone or for Zone 1 (North America) and labeled with the work’s title, running time, format (PAL or NTSC), and director(s) name(s). Entries in any other format will not be accepted for preview. Check that each submitted DVD/BLURAY plays in its entirety on consumer DVD/BLURAY players. Also, do not put adhesive labels on the discs unless it is a professional output job (if burning yourself, use a permanent marker to write necessary information).

All films are subject to reviews and rejection. Content acceptability will be established by the Festival. Any content above what constitutes an “R” rating will automatically be disqualified.
Please avoid submitting politically motivated/slanderous films. Entry materials will not be returned and will be destroyed or discarded by the Festival. Festival will retain a copy of your film for archive purposes.

All submissions are handled fairly and equally. We encourage you to submit as early as possible. All entries will be viewed by the selection committee. The Festival will make no cuts or changes. All entrants will be notified by email. Selected films will also be posted on our website. The Festival reserves the right to make any necessary changes in scheduling. We will not transfer PAL for viewing — only forward NTSC format.

The number of screenings, days and venues is at the sole discretion of the Festival.

Cost of shipping is the responsibility of the entrant. Film copies must be sent to the festival prepaid. C.O.D.’S will be refused. The festival cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss of materials while in transit. Please do not send us masters, originals, your only copy, etc.

Roswell Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening to the public, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

Entrant shall indemnify and hold harmless the Roswell Film Festival and any other agents, owners and employees of said entities from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
