Detroit’s Trinity International Film Festival. The festival takes place August 20-23, 2020 in beautiful Downtown Detroit at The Marlene Boll Theater, 1401 Broadway, Detroit, Michigan and The Carr Center Gallery. The 4-day event themed “FILM YOUR FUTURE” features an array of independent films, screenplays, workshops, The Future panel discussion and filmmakers from around the world. We are also hosting a Best screenplay competition, 2nd Annual Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey 100 Proof! Red Carpet Award ceremony. We expect an audience of over 4500 people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds to attend. This event will give your company a distinct marketing opportunity with this population in Detroit.
The TI Film Festival has hosted industry professionals locally and nationally to share their knowledge and expertise in various workshops and industry discussions. Special guests have included famed Actress and Producer, Tangi Miller, Syndicated Radio Host and Film Producer, Russ Parr, Former BET Executive Producer, Ralph Scott, currently with the Aspire Network (Owned by Magic Johnson), film segment producer/head of production for more than 100 episodes of SNL, Tanya Ryno and Writer, Director, Qasim Basir, “Destined,” and Actress/Singer Deborah Joy Winans of the acclaimed TV series “Greenleaf,” which airs on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network.
The highlight of this event over the years has been all of the innovative work we've showcased by indie filmmakers and our audience that supports Detroit's TI Film Festival.

Films must be submitted via digital download (preferred).
Short films can be up to 45 minutes in length.
Webisodes can be up to 15 minutes in length.
Feature Films can be up to 91 minutes in length.
Films must be in English or have English subtitles.
Television episodes can be up to 10 minutes / 2
episodes max 20min in length.
All entries will be viewed by the selection committee. Filmmakers will be notified if selected or not, via email.
Filmmakers retain all of the rights to their film / intellectual property.

Short-form narrative or documentary episodic series. Criteria: - 10 minutes maximum runtime per episode. - Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. - Director or writer and producer must be a person of African descent. - Competition is open to U.S. and international entries. - Series must be in the English language or contain English-language subtitles. - Entrants must submit two (2) episodes of the series, not to exceed 20 minutes of run time inclusive of credits. - The two episodes MUST be uploaded as one continuous video file, with a 2-second break and new opening title card separating the episodes. - If submitted content is a continuation of an existing series that has previously been made available to the public via any platform (broadcast television, Blu-ray, DVD, streaming, VOD, etc.) prior to August 17, 2020, only new episodes are eligible for submission

Films that tell a fictional story, events or narrative. Criteria: - Film must have a 10-minute minimum runtime. - Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. - Director or writer and producer must be a person of African descent. - Competition is open to Detroit, Metro Detroit, native Detroit's and Michigan residents entries ONLY! -Films must be in the English language or contain English-language subtitles. - Films must have completed post-production on or after January 1, 2019. - While it is our preference to exhibit films in this competitive section that are world premieres, Narrative Features that have previously screened at no more than two (2) festivals are eligible for this section. - Films that have been, or will be, broadcast or streamed on television or the internet, or released via any other public distribution platform (theatrical, Blu-ray, DVD, VOD, etc.) in any country prior to August 20, 2020, are not eligible for this category.

Nonfiction films intended to document reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction, education, or creating/maintaining a historical record. Criteria: - Must have a 60-minute minimum runtime. - Entrants must be 18 yrs. or older. - Open to U.S. and international entries. - Films must be in the English language or contain English-language subtitles. - Films must have completed post-production on or after January 1, 2019. - While it is our preference to exhibit films in this competitive section that are world premieres, Documentaries that have previously screened at no more than two (2) other festivals are eligible for this section. - Films that have been, or will be, broadcast or streamed on television or the internet, or released via any other public distribution platform (theatrical, Blu-ray, DVD, VOD, etc.) in any country prior to August 20, 2020, are not eligible for this category.
Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
