RULES AND REGULATIONS – CINEMART FESTIVAL 2027
13TH CINEMART INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL OF PINEDA DE MAR

The organizing committee of CINEMART, at a meeting held on 13 October 2026, hereby approves the announcement of the 13th edition of the International Short Film Festival of Pineda de Mar for the year 2027, establishing the following rules and regulations:

The Festival is organized by the Cinemart Association of Pineda de Mar and is international in scope, with the aim of promoting a dedicated space for the discovery, screening, and dissemination of short films.

The main thematic focus is comedy; however, the theme and genre of the productions are open.

Priority will be given to quality, originality, and unreleased productions.

Documentaries, music videos, advertising or promotional tourism films will not be accepted, nor will works that use non-original material in more than 10% of the entire film. Works that do not meet the technical quality required for proper screening will also be rejected.

The festival will take place from 13 to 18 September 2027, unless prevented by force majeure. Various activities will be integrated to showcase the selected short films and promote different aspects of cinema, art, and culture. The Festival relies on the collaboration of the Town Council, as well as local businesses and other organizations in the municipality.

The Festival, the opening gala, and the closing gala with the awards ceremony (on the final day) will be held at the Auditorium of Pineda de Mar.

Individuals and legal entities may participate, either individually or collectively, by submitting films in HD, Full HD, or 4K (.mov or .mp4).

Productions must have been completed after 1 January 2026. They may be in any language, but must include Spanish or Catalan subtitles if neither is the original language of the short film.

Short films in Catalan must be subtitled in Spanish, either embedded or as a separate file.

The maximum duration of short films is 25 minutes, including credits. Registration is free of charge and must be completed via the following platforms:
festhome.com

The registration and submission period opens on 1 November 2026 and closes on 15 April 2027.

Authors must ensure that the content of their work does not infringe intellectual property, image rights, or any other third-party rights, fully indemnifying the Organizing Committee against any legal liability.

By submitting a short film, its authors or production companies authorize its public screening during the Festival. Admission to the Auditorium during the Festival is free of charge.

The festival may use submitted material from short films for promotional purposes, regardless of the year.

THE JURY:

The Cinemart Organizing Committee will appoint a jury consisting of at least eight members.

The Jury reserves the right to declare any prize(s) void as it deems appropriate, as well as to award a special trophy to highlight technical and/or artistic aspects of any competing film. Its decisions shall be final and binding.

The OFFICIAL SELECTION will be announced in July 2027 on the festival website. Submitted works will remain in the possession of the organization, which reserves the right to use them as promotional material for the Festival.
Production companies undertake, in the event of winning any award, to include a written reference to the award at the beginning of each and every copy of the film distributed for exhibition in cinemas and film festivals, as well as on all printed promotional and informational material. This reference shall consist of text specifying the prize received, accompanied by the official laurels provided by the Organizing Committee.

Any associated costs shall not be borne by the Festival.
VERY IMPORTANT: Attendance at the Closing Gala of the Cinemart Festival is a mandatory condition for receiving the prize money. Winners must confirm their attendance at least fifteen days before the gala. This requirement does not apply to the Audience Award, which is announced on the final day of screenings. If a winner is unable to attend, a representative must attend on their behalf and submit a thank-you video message from the director and/or actors of the short film BEFORE the festival begins.

Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the cancellation of the award, which may then be granted to the next-ranked project.

On the night of the closing gala, the organization will cover accommodation and breakfast expenses for the winners; travel expenses are NOT included.

Cash prizes will be paid within a maximum period of one month following the awards ceremony, via bank transfer upon submission of a valid invoice by the winners.

Applicable withholdings and taxes as required by current law will be deducted from the prize amount.

Any issue arising during the Festival that is not covered in these RULES AND REGULATIONS will be decided by the Organizing Committee.

Participation in the Festival implies FULL acceptance of these RULES AND REGULATIONS.
