The Galician Freaky Film Festival is an international freak and underground festival, which admits films belonging to the horror, fantasy, science fiction, freak or B series genres.

6.AWARDS & JURY'S DECISIONS
6.1.For this edition the awards will be:
6.1.1.Grand Prix GFFF, to the freakiest film.
6.1.2.Award BEN DITO, to the best script.
6.1.3.Award CREA, to the best direction.
6.1.4.Award NEURONAS FRITIDAS, to the most extreme or bizarre film.
6.1.5.Award OLIMPO DOS FREAKS, to the most applauded film.
6.1.6.Award ARREPÍO, to the best horror film.
6.1.7.Award ESCARÁLLOME, to the best humor film.
6.2.Jury's decisions and decisions taken by others with awards decision-making power are unappealable.

1.ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1.1.Everybody can take part without any kind of restriction.

1.2.Films of horror, fantasy, scifi, and freak genres are eligible.

1.3.There is no limit in the number of films per each competitor.

1.4.Short films with a maximum duration of 30 minutes and feature films with a maximum duration of 120 minutes are eligible.

1.5.Films produced in 2019 or later are eligible.

1.6.Films that respect equality, diversity and non discrimination are eligible.

2.SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

2.1.Film entries in any language different from Spanish or Galician must be subtitled in any of these two languages, or at least competitors must send to the GFFF organisation a dialogue list in english, Spanish or Galician.

3.deadline

3.1.The entry deadline for submitting short films is on June 30th, 2021 at 23:59 CET.

4.SCREENING

4.1.Short films selected will be screened during the GFFF’s exhibition named Galician Freaky Film Festival in Vigo (Galicia, Spain), taking place between 29 September and 2 October 2021.

4.2.The organisation reserves the possibility to screen the films selected for the Galician Freaky Film Festival Competition in other festivals and exhibitions in collaboration with the GFFF organisation. In that case, it will be informed that those short films have been selected to the Galician Freaky Film Festival.

5.SUBMISSION SERVICES

5.1.Every film must submit the GFFF Film Inscription Form duly covered, available at the festival’s website until the deadline: https://galicianfreakyfestival.com/inscricion-de-filmes-film-submission/

7.SECURE online STREAMING

7.1.Since 2020, the GFFF has an online festival, allowing us to show films to our audience even in these tough times. Security and quality is key for us and we partner with top professional streaming providers. Our audience is international and we have viewers from many countries, mainly Europe and Hispanic America.

7.2.online screening at the online festival is optional, encouraged, but not mandatory.

8.ANNOUNCEMENTS

8.1.In the event of dates or location changes, these will be published at the festival's website.

8.2.Official selection will be announced by email to all competitors and it will be released at the GFFF official website.

9.ADHERENCE TO THESE RULES

9.1.Submission to the Festival implies the adherence to the present competition rules and regulations.

9.2.The jury, the festival’s organisation and/or A.C. Abella Producións have the power to deal with all unforeseen cases in the present competition rules and regulations.

In case of dispute, only the Galician version of the present competition rules and regulations will count, and not any derived translation.
