The categories are as follows:

General Section:

Carrete Award for Best Youth Audiovisual Creation, with a cash prize of €250.00 and a statuette.
Carrete Award for Best Message, with a statuette.
Carrete Award for Best Actor, with a statuette.
Carrete Award for Best Actress, with a statuette.
Audience Carrete Award, with a statuette.

Special notes regarding the awards:
The “Best Youth Audiovisual Creation” Award, included within the General Section, is intended for works created by children under the age of 12 or young people aged between 12 and 35, with the aim of recognising emerging talent in the artistic and cinematic field in the Canary Islands.

The submitted works must comply with the following criteria:

The theme of the short films shall be open, provided that it is suitable for all audiences.

Short films must not exceed a duration of 15 minutes.

Submissions will be assessed in the order in which they are received.

Narrative innovation and originality will be taken into account (including the use of new creative approaches, augmented reality or virtual reality, sound design, audience interaction with the audiovisual piece, etc.).

All sequences included in the short films must be filmed entirely in the eight Canary Islands.

Participation is open to anyone who wishes to take part, regardless of age, gender or nationality, with the exception of members of the Organisation itself (students, parents and teachers), who may not submit short films to the General Section.

Short films produced from 2024 onwards may be submitted.

Works that have previously participated in other film festivals or audiovisual competitions may also be submitted.

Short films must be submitted via the digital platform FestHome (festhome.com) or by email to secuencia27@gmail.com
via wetransfer.com, in “.mp4” or “.avi” format. A high resolution is recommended (Full HD, 1920 x 1080). Submissions must include a document or technical sheet stating the title of the short film, the name of the author, their telephone number and, if desired, a brief synopsis of the audiovisual work.

It is essential to provide a photograph of both the front and back of the director’s ID document.

The submission period will run from 00:00 on Tuesday 14 April to 12:00 noon on Sunday 14 June.

A total of 20 short films will be selected in accordance with these rules.

Selected short films will be announced via social media.

Prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding projects, selected by Secuencia 27 in the General Section and by a professional jury in the 36 Hours Section.

The jury may grant special mentions or recognitions as it deems appropriate to any films or individuals.

The organisers reserve the right to amend these rules if necessary, communicating any changes through the appropriate channels and providing justification for such amendments.

By submitting their audiovisual work, the creator grants the rights to the image of the authors, actors and actresses appearing in the short film for screening and dissemination at our festival or in future in-person and/or virtual screenings associated with Secuencia 27 or La Farola Films.

The monetary prize will be paid subject to the applicable tax withholdings in accordance with current legislation.
