The Mexico City Videodance Festival, in collaboration with Red Nacional de Arte, calls choreographers, filmmakers, companies and visual artists to register their works to the sixth edition of the FIVideodanza, which will take place from September 02 to 05, 2021.

All national and foreign works can apply, completed between 2019-2021, without having to present a minimum or maximum runtime.

The festival will accept all kinds of works that address choreography articulated with cinematographic language, from any body language and audiovisual medium, regardless of whether they have a documentary, fiction or animation tendency, to mention some of the audiovisual and aesthetic possibilities

During the sixth edition, we will continue to join international cooperation to combat climate change and its effects on the Earth, so the festival will also seek to program environmental-themed videodances.

All the works can be also registered in the online videodance selection, which will be shown on the official festival website (festivalvideodanza.com) during the event dates.

If conditions permit not to make the festival in person, the selected videodances will be presented online, with limited viewing to Mexico.

Works can be submitted from the moment of publication of the call and until 23:59 hours on August 8, 2021. (Mexico City, Central Time). Participants can submit up to 5 works for consideration.

The works to form part of each section will be chosen by a selection committee, whose decision is final.

The festival will award a prize for best videodance. The Jury will be entitled to award other special mentions that they deemed.

In case of the winner does not claim their prize in the next 3 months, it will be understood that they waive it and can be used to cover the expenses in the next edition of the festival.

Selected works could be part of national and international exhibitions during 2021-2022.

By participating, the applicant also accepts the use of frames or segments of the piece registered for the dissemination and development of printed or electronic materials such as trailer, posters, postcards, flyers, videos or virtual catalog.

The list of selected videodances will be published on the official website of the festival on August 15, 2021. Each participant selected will be contacted by email.

Registration of works to the Festival constitutes acceptance of the rules of this call and renunciation of any claim or legal action against the Festival, Red Nacional de Arte, their representatives or affiliates. Any matter not specified in this call will be resolved by the organizers.
