THE FESTIVAL:

The International “Cinema Povero” Film Festival is open to everybody: rich film-makers, poor film-makers of any gender or religion all welcome provided they have developed a beautiful, original idea on a limited budget.

Best Italian Short Film - € 1000

Best Non - Italian Short Film - € 1000

Best Screenplay - € 1000
“City of Ispra " Award - € 500

Special awards: Diplomas of special mention, will be decided by the Jury International.

Cash prizes will NOT be credited to winners from Countries under International embargo nor to their delegates residing in Countries free from restrictions.

2-REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

Competitors who wish to participate can send the link of the work from viewing, using international platforms:

Movies must be downloadable.

3-CATEGORIES:

- ITALIAN SHORT FILMS: (fiction, documentaries, animation)

- NON-ITALIAN SHORT FILMS: (fiction, documentaries,
animation)

- SCREENPLAY: (read point 4)

Film: maximum duration: 20 minutes, made after January 1, 2023

Screenplays: Maximum length: 20 pages – translated into italian subtitles: in Italian if the dialogues are in another language or dialect;

Films longer than 20 minutes: will be accepted and evaluated by the Jury, but they will only compete for the”Special Mention".

Films already winners or participants in other Festivals are allowed, excluding those presented in previous editions of the International Festival “Cinema Povero”;

The rights of the work will remain the property of the author or those for him.

4-SCREENPLAY COMPETITION
maximum length of works: from 20 pages, translated into italian:

on the first page: title of the work, name and address of the author,

on the second page: brief synopsis of the story.

Are allowed: scripts translated into Italian using AI or others translator.

Are not allowed: scripts already winners of other competitions or submitted to the our Festival in previous competitions;

Upon request, scripts can be sent in PDF format directly to the Festival's email address with payment of the registration fee via PayPal.

5-SUBMISSION deadline:
The deadline for sending the works is set for June 15, 2026-hours - 23: 59 C. E. T.

6-SECRETARIAT CONTRIBUTION:
The secretarial contribution for all sections (films and screenplays) is di € 10,00 (ten) $ 12,00 (twelve)

The contribution will not be made for any reason.

-FINALISTS:
The Jury will select the best films, which will compete for the final ranking.

From the final ranking, the audience will choose the
winning film of the Festival
