Santiago Horror Film Festival (9)

Feature Films:
The competition is open to the screening of feature films in the fantasy and horror genres, including all their subgenres and variations (thriller, documentary, dark comedy, science fiction, etc.) in the formats established in the rules.

Feature films participating in this category must not have been previously screened in Chile, under any circumstances or by any means (this is not an exclusion from the application process, if the case warrants it).

Largometrajes:
La competencia está orientada a la exhibición de películas de largometraje, en los géneros de fantástico, terror, incluyendo todos sus subgéneros y variantes (thrillers, documentales, humor negro, ciencia ficción, etc.) en los formatos establecidos en las bases.

Los largometrajes que participen en esta categoría no podrán haber sido exhibidas con anterioridad en Chile, bajo ningún concepto y por ningún medio (no excluyente en la postulación, si el caso lo amerita).

Short films:
The submitted works may not exceed 20 minutes, as a maximum duration.

The selected works must be delivered in a standard format compatible with most of the players on the market or sent in high-quality digital format.

This category will be subdivided for registration, programming and awarding purposes into:

Convocatoria – Cortometrajes

Los trabajos presentados no podrán exceder los 25 minutos de duración, incluyendo créditos.
Las obras seleccionadas deberán entregarse en un formato estándar compatible con la mayoría de los sistemas de reproducción actuales, o bien mediante archivo digital en alta calidad, según las especificaciones técnicas que indique la organización.

Se dará preferencia a obras que realicen su estreno en el Santiago Horror (SHFF).

No se aceptarán obras que hayan sido publicadas previamente en redes sociales, plataformas de streaming u otros medios de acceso público.

Call for Entries – Music Videos

This competition is open to audiovisual filmmakers, bands or musical projects, music video production companies, independent artists, and record labels.

Music videos must not exceed 15 minutes, including credits.

The use of copyrighted material is not permitted unless the submitter or their legal representative holds the exclusive rights. The organization assumes no responsibility for unauthorized use of protected content.

The award will be granted to the director or legal rights holder. The band or musical project may act as the representative of the rights holder.

Pre-selected music videos may be screened and promoted through SHFF’s official website, RSS feed, and communication channels, including pre-selected, finalist, and winning works.

Convocatoria – Videoclips

La competencia está dirigida a realizadores audiovisuales, bandas o proyectos musicales, productoras de videoclips, artistas independientes y compañías discográficas.

La duración del videoclip no podrá exceder los 15 minutos, incluyendo créditos.

No se permitirá el uso de materiales o contenidos sujetos a derechos de propiedad intelectual cuyos derechos exclusivos no pertenezcan al postulante o a su representante legal. La organización no asume responsabilidad por el uso no autorizado de material protegido por copyright.

El premio será otorgado al director o a quien posea los derechos legales de la obra. La banda o proyecto musical podrá representar al titular de los derechos.

Los videoclips preseleccionados podrán exhibirse y difundirse en la página web oficial, RSS y canales de comunicación de SHFF, incluyendo obras preseleccionadas, finalistas y ganadoras.

Animated Short Films

Submitted works must not exceed 25 minutes in length, including credits.
Selected works must be submitted in a standard format compatible with most current playback systems, or as a high-quality digital file, according to the technical specifications provided by the organizers.

Preference will be given to works premiering at Santiago Horror Film Festival (SHFF).

Works previously published on social media, streaming platforms, or other publicly accessible media will not be accepted.

• There will be a single category for this segment.

• Submitted works may be created using any animation technique or method. Works requiring stereoscopic viewing systems for proper exhibition will not be accepted.

Los trabajos presentados no podrán exceder los 25 minutos de duración, incluyendo créditos.
Las obras seleccionadas deberán entregarse en un formato estándar compatible con la mayoría de los sistemas de reproducción actuales, o bien mediante archivo digital en alta calidad, según las especificaciones técnicas que indique la organización.

Se dará preferencia a obras que realicen su estreno en el Santiago Horror (SHFF).

No se aceptarán obras que hayan sido publicadas previamente en redes sociales, plataformas de streaming u otros medios de acceso público.

• Existirá una única categoría para este segmento.

• Los trabajos presentados podrán estar realizados mediante cualquier técnica o método de animación. No se admitirán obras que requieran sistemas de visionado estereoscópico para su correcta exhibición.

“New Blood” Student Short Film Competition

• Films must have a minimum duration of 1 minute and a maximum duration of 20 minutes, including credits.

• Submitted works must align with the thematic guidelines established by the festival.

• Films must be in Spanish. If other languages are used, Spanish subtitles must be embedded in the video file.

• The festival reserves the right to request student verification or enrollment certification when deemed necessary by the organization.

University Short Film Competition “New Blood”

• Films must be between 1 and 20 minutes long, including credits.

• Short films must adhere to the themes defined by the festival.

• Films must be in Spanish. If other languages ​​are included, Spanish subtitles must be embedded in the video.

• The festival may request student accreditation or certification from participants if deemed necessary.
