The competition is addressed to filmmakers from all over the world who produce short films and documentaries.

A jury appointed by the organisers will evaluate the short films and documentaries in competition and award prizes to the two best works overall, one for the short film section and the other for documentaries. The jury will be made up of experts and enthusiasts in cinematography, photography and other visual arts. The following prizes will also be awarded:

• Audience Award – popular jury;

• Best Cinematography Award (short film or documentary);

• Best Performance Award (short film);

• Best Soundtrack Award (short film or documentary);

• Special Award: 'Women in backlight, faceless, voiceless, nameless';

• Two awards for the best films submitted by schools.

Winners will receive a one-night stay for two people (bed and breakfast). Winners will receive a plaque and other prizes of various kinds, including those offered by local businesses.

REGULATIONS

1 – Participation in the competition requires payment of an entry fee of €5.00, to be paid using one of the methods specified below, per filmmaker, regardless of the number of sections entered. Films submitted to the section dedicated to educational institutions, as well as projects entered in this category, are exempt from the entry fee.

2 – Two SECTIONS are предусмотрed:

1) Short Films;
2) Documentaries.
Three themes are available for both sections:

1. “Borders” – geographical, personal, social and psychological;
2. “Roots” – belonging, memory, places of origin, traditions and migration;
3. “Open Theme”.
“Women in Half-Light: Without a Face, Without a Voice, Without a Name” is a special award dedicated to works capable of portraying the condition of women through stories of invisibility, marginalisation and denied or forgotten identities. It recognises those who, through the language of cinema, give voice and visibility to women who have often remained out of frame, restoring their dignity, memory and recognition. The award celebrates an original, sensitive and non-stereotypical perspective on women.

This section is dedicated to films produced by educational institutions throughout Italy, from primary schools to lower and upper secondary schools, which will explore the three themes established in this year's call for entries. It offers an opportunity to introduce younger generations to the language of cinema, encouraging creativity, collaboration and the ability to express their own points of view. The competition aims to give students a voice and recognise cinema as a tool for expression, personal growth and dialogue.

3 – All works must be submitted no later than Sunday, 28 February 2027. Entries must be sent via www.wetransfer.com or similar services to the email address cortintelvi@gmail.com, or submitted through the online platforms https://festhome.com/. All information and technical requirements will be available on the official website www.cortintelvi.it from the publication of the official call for entries.

4 – Each filmmaker may submit one work per section (in Italian or with Italian subtitles. Short films and documentaries that are neither in Italian nor provided with Italian subtitles will be excluded from the competition). The maximum running time is 25 minutes, including opening and closing credits. A completed and signed entry form must be submitted for each work entered. This form constitutes an integral and essential part of these regulations.

Each film submission must also include a video trailer and the film's poster.

5 – The Festival's organising management reserves the right to reject works that do not meet the standards of seriousness and integrity expected of the competition. In particular, it reserves the right to exclude videos containing pornographic or racist messages.

6 – Each filmmaker is responsible for the content of their submitted work and for the use of copyright-protected music. By submitting a work, the filmmaker also declares that they hold all rights necessary for its use, without exception; that its content does not violate any applicable laws; and that it contains no defamatory material. In all cases, the sender releases the organisers from any liability arising from the content of the work screened publicly.

7 – The organisers shall not be held responsible for any damage to or loss of submitted works.

8 – The organisers reserve the right to amend these regulations in the event of force majeure or where amendments are considered necessary to improve the competition. Any changes will be communicated to participants in a timely manner.

9 – The popular jury will cast its votes during two screening evenings held within the first ten days of July, at which the “Popular Jury Award” will be announced. The evenings will be included in the official programme, which will be published by
February 2027 on the official website www.cortintelvi.it.
