The “Memorables Film Festival” is a film festival and competition dedicated to showing and promoting the creation and dissemination of short films about Alzheimer's and its effects on patients, families and their social interest.

The Memorables Film Festival is organized by the CIEN Foundation (Center for Neurological Diseases Research), the Reina Sofía Foundation Alzheimer Center.

The CIEN Foundation presents the Cortos Memorables Film Festival, as a film festival with the purpose of giving visibility to Alzheimer's disease and how it affects different aspects of our lives. Likewise, the short film contest will help promote the creation and creativity of audiovisual content that add value to the dissemination of Alzheimer's disease.

In the Spanish cultural and audiovisual framework, there are two other festivals that address issues related to the brain in some way. From the perspective of Cortos Memorables Film Festival, an attempt will be made to bring human value to Alzheimer's disease.

The purpose will be to show how it affects people who live, suffer or know the effects of Alzheimer's and what is the emotional impact, trying to give light in a positive way.

The festival is aimed at any interested attendee. In addition to the official short film competition, different activities and experiences will be carried out around the official theme of the festival, from talks, colloquia, exhibitions and sessions with experts in the field, as well as family members or people who have directly or indirectly experienced the disease of Alzheimer's.

2. Participation. Admission criteria.

1. Registration for the Short Memorable Film Festival is free. The genre must be fiction and / or documentary on the subject of Alzheimer's in any of its dimensions: the effect on the lives of patients, scientific, medical or social aspects.

2. The jury will assess the cinematographic quality of the shorts, as well as the quality of the message transmitted in relation to the theme (Alzheimer's) and its ability to raise awareness in society of the problem posed by this disease. In this edition, and taking into account the difficult health context generated by the covid-19 pandemic, which has uniquely affected the elderly, the jury will pay special attention to those works that refer to the impact of the pandemic in people with Alzheimer's. This theme will not be, in any case, mandatory, but an option available to creators.

The Audience Award will be voted during the Festival, by means of ballots arranged in the room, in the event that this edition is in person.
