Memorables Film Festival 2023 (short films about Alzheimer's disease) announces the rules and regulations for its fifth edition

1. The Festival
The "Memorables Film Festival" is a film festival and competition dedicated to showcase and promote the creation and dissemination of short films about Alzheimer's disease and its effects on patients and their families, as well as its social interest.

The "Memorables Film Festival" is organised by the CIEN Foundation (Centre for Research on Neurological Diseases), Queen Sofia Foundation Alzheimer Centre.
The CIEN Foundation presents the "Memorables Film Festival" as a film festival with the purpose of giving visibility to Alzheimer's disease and how it affects different aspects of our lives. Also, the short film contest will help to promote the creation and creativity of audiovisual content that add value to the dissemination of Alzheimer's disease.
Within the Spanish cultural and audiovisual framework, there are two other festivals that deal in some way with issues related to the brain. From the perspective of the "Memorables Film Festival", the aim will be to bring human value to Alzheimer's disease. The purpose will be to show how it affects people who live with, suffer from or know the effects of Alzheimer's and what the emotional impact is, trying to shed light on it in a positive way.

The festival is aimed at anyone interested and resident in Spain. In addition to the official short film competition, there will be different activities around the official theme of the festival, including talks, colloquiums, exhibitions and sessions with experts in the field, as well as family members or people who have directly or indirectly experienced Alzheimer's disease.

2. Participation. Admission criteria.

1. Entry to the "Memorables Film Festival" is free of charge. The genre must be fiction and/or documentary on the subject of Alzheimer's disease in any of its dimensions: the effect on patients' lives, scientific, medical or social aspects.

2. The jury will value the cinematographic quality of the short films, as well as the quality of the message conveyed in relation to the theme (Alzheimer's) and its capacity to raise awareness in society of the problem of this disease.

3. Only one short film per participant will be accepted and the works must be original. The competition reserves the right not to accept short films that do not meet all the requirements or those that do not meet the criteria established by the organisers.

5. When submitting the works to the competition, a form must be filled in with the author's details: name and surname, address and contact telephone number, scanned ID card and a brief biographical note (in the text box). A technical and artistic file of the short film must also be provided, listing all the crew involved in the film and their roles.

6. Video or animation works must be created in digital format; with a final file size of maximum 250 MB and a window width of 1024x576 px. 7. In the case of short films with dialogue or voice over, they will be accepted in any of the official languages of Spain, as long as they are subtitled in Spanish.

8. The short films in the official section may not be longer than thirteen minutes (including the opening and closing credits).

9. Each short film will be registered in the name of the natural person who appears on the entry form, who will be the beneficiary of any prize that may be awarded. The organisation assumes that this person owns the rights to the work submitted, and therefore does not assume any responsibility in this respect on the part of the contestants.
