The III Short Film Festival “SAN BARTOMÉ DE LAS ABIERTAS Rural Film Showcase”

1. PARTICIPANTS AND SCOPE
The 3rd San Bartolomé de las Abiertas Rural Film Festival is open to anyone who wishes to participate, regardless of age and/or nationality, whether professional or amateur.

Minimum of 10 participants per category.
3. SHORT FILMS
The short films submitted must be related to the theme of the competition and may be silent or have sound. The language used in the short films must be Spanish or, failing that, they must be subtitled in Spanish.
Each author or entity may submit a maximum of 2 short films, accompanied by the corresponding title and, optionally, a brief text explaining the audiovisual project (this will be taken into consideration). Works may be submitted in any format, whether physical, DVD, USB, and/or memory card, or digital, including cloud viewing services and platforms or storage, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes. The organization reserves the right to request a physical copy if necessary for proper viewing during the exhibition.
DELIVERY
The submission period for short films will open on February 2, 2026, and close on February 16, 2026.
The audiovisual file may be submitted in any of the following formats: avi, .mpg, wma, mp4, or similar. The maximum size is 8 GB.
Physical Format:
Submissions will be sent free of charge to the San Bartolomé de las Abiertas Town Hall, located at: Plaza de la Iglesia, 1, 45654, San Bartolomé de las Abiertas, indicating on the envelope or package “San Bartolomé de las Abiertas Rural Cinema Short Films 2026”. Films may also be submitted in person at the San Bartolomé de las Abiertas Town Hall Registry Office, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., within the aforementioned deadline. In order to safeguard confidentiality, each short film will be submitted indicating the title, and will be accompanied by a sealed envelope with the same title on the outside, and inside which will be included the name and surname of the author, telephone, postal address and email address (if any), as well as a photocopy of the identity card or passport.
Digital format:
Submissions must include the link where the short films are hosted (YouTube, Vimeo, or any other similar server), along with the corresponding access credentials for viewing, and proof of authorship. Please send these submissions to the following email address: ofiturismosanbartolome@gmail.com
The organizers reserve the right to request a physical copy or other relevant documentation, if necessary.
5. JURY
The jury will be composed of representatives of the organizing committee of the 3rd Rural Film Festival, and its decision will be final. The jury reserves the right to interpret these rules.
The jury may declare the competition void due to a lack of participants or the insufficient quality and interest of the short films submitted.

The date of the exhibition and the awards ceremony will be announced 10 days in advance.
The prizes will be awarded to the author or a member of the production team, with the author's authorization.
(*) The amount of each prize will be subject to the withholding tax stipulated by current tax legislation.
7. JURY DECISION AND SCREENING OF SHORT FILMS
The jury's decision will be announced during the 3rd Rural Film Festival in March 2026. Once it has been verified that the submitted works fully comply with these rules, nine finalist works will be selected (three per category) to be screened at the "El Silo" Cultural Center in San Bartolomé de las Abiertas.
The finalist works will become part of the audiovisual archive of the San Bartolomé de las Abiertas Town Hall.
8. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of these rules. The organizers reserve the right to resolve any matter not covered herein.
