Descubierto Film Festival emerges as a meeting place between spectators and audiovisual creators of the fantasy genre.

The competitive selection of short films will be interested in bringing together works with fantasy themes with risky visual languages ​​and innovative proposals. On the other hand, there will be a regional film show where the filmography of local authors will be exhibited. In this way, we seek to be a window for stories told from different perspectives.

Additionally, the Festival will organize parallel activities aimed at complementing the cultural programming.

Call for entries

The Descubierto Film Festival publishes the call for entries annually for the following film categories: Latin American, international and regional cinema. You can participate with productions made since 2022 in the competitive categories, while the regional cinema category is open to productions from La Libertad from every year.

The Festival also calls for the collaboration of volunteers. You can join our team in the areas of graphic design, photography, audiovisual, social media management and production.



RULES AND CONDITIONS

These rules detail the requirements for submitting films to the 2025 Descubierto Film Festival. Compliance with these rules is necessary to participate in the festival. By submitting a film, you acknowledge and agree to these rules. Please read them carefully before submitting your film. If you have any questions, please contact contacto@festivaldescubrimiento.com.

The Descubierto Film Festival accepts submissions in the following categories:

Feature Films: International Fantasy.

Short Films (under 30 minutes):

International Fantasy, Animation, National Fantasy, and Regional Productions.

The participant(s) submitting the film must possess all legal rights for the submission and have obtained all necessary permissions for public exhibition. The filmmaker(s) retain all submission and intellectual property rights.

Films must be submitted electronically through the official submission platform.

Filmmakers are responsible for ensuring that all submission materials are submitted by the stated deadline. Failure to meet the deadline may result in a higher submission fee or disqualification.

If a film received 50% or more of its funding from sources outside of Peru, the film may be submitted as an International Film. If not in Spanish, Spanish subtitles must be submitted.

Please ensure that viewing links and passwords are up to date and notify Descubrimiento immediately of any changes. Test your media before submitting to ensure it is working properly and is not damaged.

Filmmakers may submit more than one film to the festival, provided that it is submitted separately and complies with Descubrimiento's guidelines.

All personal contact information will remain confidential and will not be shared with third parties.

Descubrimiento reserves the right to use images from selected films for marketing purposes.

All decisions regarding award winners are final and cannot be challenged.

Applicants acknowledge that Uncovered reserves the right to modify the nature of screenings and events due to circumstances relating to public health and welfare or at the direction of local, regional or national authorities. In such cases, registration refunds will not be issued.
