The "Buzduganul de Aur" competition offers a platform for Romanian filmmakers to showcase their talent, celebrate their cultural heritage, and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of national short-film.

From a repurposed closed pool to residential neighborhoods brimming with charm, and even historic buildings steeped in cultural heritage, each screening venue offers a distinct ambiance that enhances the cinematic experience.

"Buzduganul de Aur" Award - Romanian Short-Film Competition

"Buzduganul de Aur" - Romanian Short-Film Competition Rules:

Language and Production: To be eligible for the "Buzduganul de Aur" competition, films must either be produced in Romania or be predominantly in the Romanian language. This criterion aims to promote the rich cinematic heritage and storytelling from the local Romanian film industry.

Timeframe: Submissions must have been produced within the two years leading up to the current edition of the festival. This rule ensures that the competition showcases recent works, encouraging filmmakers to present their most current and innovative creations. For this year's edition, the film must have been completed starting with 2021.

Short-Film Format: The competition is open exclusively to short films with a maximum duration of 30 minutes. This limitation allows for a diverse range of storytelling within a concise format, enabling filmmakers to captivate audiences with their creativity and cinematic prowess.

The "Buzduganul de Aur" competition offers a platform for Romanian filmmakers to showcase their talent, celebrate their cultural heritage, and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of national short-film excellence.
