It is a space of encounter that has been developed in Quindío since 2020 and where through a formative process in peace, coexistence and reconciliation with young people of the territory, tools are provided so that they can narrate through audiovisual content, their realities and generate proposals that advocate for Peace. In previous versions, more than 40 audiovisual contents have participated, as well as more than 100 teenagers and young people trained in audiovisual production from the pre-production, production and post-production stages.

The winners will receive a STANDARD OR SPECIAL MENTION, and the exhibition of their work in the different spaces provided by the V IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2024.

AUDIOVISUAL CALL FOR PROPOSALS - 2024

V IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2024

The YMCA Quindio, invites directors, filmmakers and producers to participate with their audiovisual works, within the context of the IV YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL IDEAS FOR PEACE - 2024, which will be held from November 5 to 14 of this year in Armenia - Colombia. On-site modality.

The objective of the call is to gather quality film production, both national and international, aimed at young audiences, in the following categories

CATEGORY: LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

1.1.- PROFESSIONAL IN COMPETITION
National and International young filmmakers

A. Best Short Film: Fiction

B. Best Documentary Short Film

C. Web or TV Series

1.2.- LOCAL COMPETITION
Young filmmakers from the department of Quindío

A. Best Short Film: Fiction

B. Best Documentary Short Film

C. Web or TV Series

The invitation to these categories is open to all directors, filmmakers and producers, who may be individuals, legal entities or collectives.

CATEGORY: Ideas for Peace

This award is directed to young people, who have an audiovisual work
made by themselves in Quindío. In the following categories:

A. Best Short Film or Filminuto: Fiction

B. Best Short Film or Filminuto: Documentary

NOTE: Audiovisual works produced by young people under 18 years of age (and which are selected to be submitted to the
selected to participate in the competition), must send to the Organization a letter of authorization from their parents or legal guardians in order to participate in the V IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2024.

NOTE: For these categories the duration is from 1 to 30 minutes (including credits).

THE SELECTED JURY WILL EVALUATE THE EIGHT CATEGORIES

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

The competition is open to all audiovisual works produced between JANUARY 2020 and October 2024.

By registering for the V IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2024, the author grants free of charge the rights to exhibit the work within the framework of the event, without commercial purposes.

PROPOSED THEME FOR THIS CALL

THEMATIC AXIS FOR THE 2024 VERSION, IN ANY OF THE CATEGORIES:
"PEACE, COEXISTENCE AND ART FOR PEACE".

Short films that deviate from the theme established for this version will not be submitted for selection.

Fill out the EXHIBITION RIGHTS LICENSE at the Festival (In case of being selected).

Failure to submit any of these requirements will void the application.

The submission of the work implies the acceptance of all the rules of the contest.

REQUIREMENTS TO SUBMIT YOUR SHORT FILM

Technical specifications, synopsis and poster of the film in jpg at 300 dpi.

The audiovisual work must be sent with the following specifications: Full HD resolution (1920x1080). HD (1920x1080). MOV or MP4 container in both cases with H.264 CODEC.

REMARKS

The cost of sending the audiovisual material in any of its formats to the V IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2024, will be paid by the participant.

NOTE: Audiovisual works submitted to the V IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2024 will only be received in Spanish or subtitled in Spanish.

Material in analogous formats will not be received.

CLASSIFICATION AND EVALUATION PROCESS

The V IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2024 reserves the right to decide the number of works that go on to competition.

The curatorial team, designated by the Festival, will nominate the selected works that will go to the official competition.

A jury composed of recognized national and international experts in the audiovisual, arts and cultural fields will deliberate on the competing works, arts and culture, will deliberate on the works in competition.
The jury's decision is final.

The short films not selected will be added to the archive of the IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2024.

Selected short films will be included in the official competition. They will have to fill out an EXHIBITION RIGHTS LETTER, to be presented in the program of the V IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2024. All participants will be informed, via email, of the final result of the jury in the different categories; likewise, this result will be published on the official website of the YMCA Quindío (www.ymcaquindio.org).

One prize will be awarded for each category in competition.

In the event that the works presented in any category do not meet the technical, aesthetic or treatment requirements, If the works submitted in any category do not meet the technical, aesthetic or treatment requirements required by the V IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2024 for its competition, the jury is free to declare this category void.
