Acocollona’t, Girona Fantasy and Horror Film Festival, has been held since 2011 as a key meeting point for fans of the genre. For one week, the festival fills the streets and venues of Girona with fantasy and horror cinema, along with dozens of related activities that turn the city into a true hub for genre culture.
Over its 15 editions, more than 600 short films have been screened, consolidating Acocollona’t as a major event within the fantasy and horror film circuit.
Cash Prizes: 1,300€
The awards are: 1st Prize (600€), 2nd Prize (400€) and Public Prize (300€)
ACOCOLLONA’T 2026 – Girona Fantasy and Horror Film Festival
- Free theme within the fantasy and horror genre.
- The idea will be valued above technical or production resources.
- Short films must have a running time between 3 and 20 minutes.
- Any short film not produced in Catalan or Spanish must be submitted with subtitles in one of these languages.
- Once the selection has been made, the organization will contact the authors to request screening copies in the highest available quality.
- Short films must have been produced after January 1, 2025.
- Participation in ACOCOLLONA’T implies full acceptance of these rules. By participating, the authors grant the organization, free of charge, the right to screen their works for the purposes of festival promotion and dissemination (website, showcases, etc.). In cases of shared or similar rights, the author/producer must specify in the submission whether they grant permission for the full short film or only excerpts to be used for such promotional purposes.
