Festival start: 28 November 2025      Festival end: 29 November 2025

Africa’s Voices of Change Film Festival (AVOCFF) is an impact-driven film festival based in Nigeria, with a focus on children’s rights, disability inclusion, and public health. Through carefully selected films, live discussions, and youth-led workshops, AVOCFF uses cinema as a tool for Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) and community engagement.

Launched in 2024 by Tropism Ideas Ltd, AVOCFF brings together filmmakers, advocates, and policy actors to highlight overlooked issues and drive constructive dialogue. The festival centres human stories that prompt reflection, encourage civic action, and contribute to conversations that shape future advocacy and policy work.

Submissions must engage with at least one of AVOCFF’s core themes:

Disability inclusion

Public health

Children’s rights

Access to education, mobility, or dignity

2. Film Length

Short Films: Max 25 minutes

Documentaries/Docudramas: Max 45 minutes
(Longer entries may be accepted if exceptionally relevant—request prior approval.)

3. Language & Accessibility

Films must be in English or include accurate English subtitles.

Films addressing accessibility topics must reflect respectful, informed representation.

Captions are strongly encouraged for all submissions.

4. Production Date
Films must have been completed between January 2022 and August 2025.

Works-in-progress are not eligible.

5. Screening Rights
You must own the rights to all materials used (video, music, images).

By submitting, you grant AVOCFF the right to screen the film during the festival and use excerpts for promotional purposes.

6. Submission Format
All entries must be submitted via the official AVOCFF online form.

Films must be uploaded as MP4 or MOV files, or provided via Vimeo/YouTube (with download enabled).

7. Fees
Submission is free.

We’re here to elevate important voices, not create more barriers. That’s why Festhome will not charge its usual submission fee either.

8. Selection Process
Films will be reviewed by the AVOCFF 2025 programming team and guest curators.

Selection is based on relevance, storytelling, technical quality, and alignment with the festival theme.

9. Notification
Filmmakers will be notified of selection by October 1, 2025.

Selected filmmakers may be invited to participate in panels, Q&As, or town-hall screenings.

10. Accessibility Note
Films that make deliberate efforts to be accessible (e.g. captions, sign language, audio description) will be prioritized.

Have questions or a story that doesn’t fit the mold?

Contact: avocffestival@gmail.com

We’re open to bold voices and unconventional formats—if it aligns with the mission, we want to see it.
