AJR Vision is organizing the second edition of the AJR Vision Film Festival, an international short film festival whose goal is to discover, support, and connect emerging talent within the audiovisual industry.

The festival is part of the AJR Vision ecosystem, a digital platform that connects filmmakers, production companies, universities, and industry professionals, facilitating the visibility, distribution, and development of audiovisual works supported by AI.
AJR Vision Film Festival goes beyond exhibition: it is a gateway to real opportunities within the industry, including visibility, networking, and potential professional development.

AUDIENCE AWARD

The winning short film will receive an official trophy titled:

FESTIVAL FORMAT

● In-person festival in Bilbao + AJR Vision digital environment
● Dates: October 9–10, 2026
● Duration: 2 days
● Format: short films (maximum 45 minutes)

Schedules and specific programming will be defined in coordination with the festival venue.

The festival is structured around a single competitive short film section.

● Student Award
● Basque Cinema Award
● Audience Award

SELECTION PROCESS

The festival will have a Programming Committee and an independent Jury.

Per category:
● 8 selected works (Official Selection)
● 4 finalist works (in-person screening)
● 1 winning work

The Best Short Film award will be chosen among the finalist works.

The Audience Award will be decided through voting by registered attendees.

The jury may grant special mentions.

The jury’s decisions will be final and non-appealable.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

● Works from any country
● Produced from January 1, 2022 onwards
● No premiere status required
● Previously screened or published works are accepted

Participants declare that they hold all necessary rights to the submitted work.

The use of artificial intelligence is permitted, provided it is disclosed and third-party rights are respected.

LANGUAGE AND SUBTITLES

● Any language accepted
● English subtitles mandatory if the work is not in English
● Spanish subtitles recommended

Important:
Subtitles must not be burned into the video image. They must be delivered as a separate file (.srt or equivalent) to allow adaptation into different languages.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

● Private screening link or direct upload
● Recommended resolution: 1080p (minimum 720p)
● Codec: H.264

SUBMISSION FEES

● Early: €3 (April – May)
● Regular: €5 (June – July)

● Regular deadline: July 31, 2026
● Late deadline: September 1, 2026
● Extended deadline: September 7, 2026
● Selected projects announcement: September 14, 2026
● Festival: October 9–10, 2026

Dates may be adjusted for organizational reasons.

SCREENINGS

Finalist works will be screened at the in-person festival.

Some works may also become part of the AJR Vision digital environment, expanding their visibility within the ecosystem.

FESTIVAL ATTENDANCE

The festival will be open to the general public, subject to venue capacity.

Conditions:
● Participants: admission included
● 1 guest per project: free admission
● Additional project team members: €3 per person

General public:
● 1-day ticket: €3
● 2-day ticket: €5

FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE

The festival will include:
● Screenings of finalist works
● Meetings with filmmakers
● Networking spaces
● Closing event
● Official afterparty

AJR VISION ECOSYSTEM

Participating works may be integrated into the AJR Vision ecosystem, gaining access to tools, visibility, and opportunities within the audiovisual industry.

LOGISTICS AND PARTNERSHIPS

The organization may establish agreements with:
● Hotels for guest accommodation
● Public or private institutions for venues
● Partner entities for parallel activities

Submitting an entry implies full acceptance of these regulations.

AJR Vision reserves the right to modify non-essential aspects for justified reasons.

These regulations are governed by Spanish law.

For any dispute, the parties submit to the Courts and Tribunals of Madrid.
