Batman Film Festivali ()

Launched in 2024 as the "Batman Short Film Days" by the Batman Cinema Association, our journey now continues as the Batman Film Festival, supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism (General Directorate of Cinema) and the Batman Municipality.

​The festival aims to foster short film production, boost the visibility of young filmmakers, and firmly position Batman in national and international cinema networks.

​Our vibrant program will feature national and international short film competitions, the Kurdishort selection, special screenings for children and disadvantaged groups, and feature film premieres, alongside a variety of panels, workshops, and masterclasses led by experienced filmmakers.

AWARDS and PRIZES

- ​Best International Short Film • $300 Cash Prize
​- Special Jury Award • $200 Cash Prize

​• Cash prizes will be paid to the recipients by December 31, 2026, at the latest.

• ​In the International category, these prizes will be paid to the producer as the legal owner of the film.

SHORT FILM COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS

​SUBMISSION ELIGIBILITY

1. ​Only short films completed after January 1, 2026, are eligible for submission.

​2. The runtime must not exceed 20 minutes, including credits.

​3. Submissions must be submitted online via the Festhome platform: https://festhome.com/festival/batman-k-sa-film-gunleri

4. All films must have English subtitles.

​5. Films that have previously screened or won awards at other festivals are eligible to apply.

​6. Submitted films must not have been broadcast on any online platform or television network.

​7. Submission fee for the International Competition is $3 USD (Gold & Student $2). Fees are non-refundable if a film is withdrawn.

​8. The applicant declares that they hold all rights to the film and that it does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

​9. Once the finalists are announced, applicants cannot withdraw their films from the festival.

​10. The festival management reserves the right to screen selected films free of charge during the festival and use clips for promotional purposes.

11. ​For International finalists, only accommodation expenses in Batman will be covered. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the participant.

​SUBMISSION DEADLINE

1. ​Short film submissions will be accepted exclusively via Festhome.

​2. Final Deadline: September 20, 2026

​3. Selected films will be announced on the festival’s official website and social media accounts.

​EVALUATION

1. ​The pre-jury will select the finalists for both categories by November 1, 2026, at the latest.

​2. 15 finalists will be selected for the National category, and 10 finalists for the International category.

​3. The National and International main juries will evaluate the finalist films separately to determine the winners.

​4. All jury decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

SCREENINGS

1. ​The festival retains the right to screen selected films free of charge throughout the duration of the event.

2. ​No commercial profit will be generated from the film screenings.

​3. The festival management may use excerpts of up to 30 seconds from the films for promotional purposes.

​GENERAL PROVISIONS

1. ​By submitting a film, all applicants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

​2. The festival management reserves the right to modify the program and dates if deemed necessary.

3. ​Any legal liability arising from the submitted films rests entirely with the participant.
