This cultural proposal takes place within the framework of the celebrations of a new anniversary of Punta del Este, celebrating the best independent cinema from around the world. It began as a MERCOSUR cinema and grew to become an international film festival. "Cine del Mar" has been declared of Presidential Interest and has the sponsorship and support of the Ministry of Tourism, Directorate of Tourism of the Municipality of Maldonado, Municipality of Punta del Este and the embassies of the participating countries.

Jury Special Mentions

1.- The XV "Cine del Mar" Festival, to be held from July 6th to 10th, 2021, calls for the Short Films and Long Feature Film Competition, with the aim of stimulating and disseminating the production of films from the South America and the rest of the world.

2.- They must have been made as of January 1, 2019 and in the following categories: Fiction, Documentary and Animation. The maximum length accepted per film will be 15 minutes for short films and 100 for long feature films. They may not have been exhibited in previous editions of the festival and priority will be given to those that are national or regional premieres.

3.- The films may have been produced in any film or digital format, but they must be presented for exhibition in the following formats: MOV file H264 1920x1080 or similar (MKV, MP4, AVI).

4.- In the case of films that are not originally in Spanish, they must come with subtitles embedded in Spanish or accompanied by an SRT file with Spanish subtitles.

5.- The deadline for the reception of materials is June 21th, 2021.

6.- An international jury of three members will discern the awards in the different categories, and their decision will be final.

7.- The festival shall try to provide facilities for the presence of the directors of the selected films during the festival, but the acceptance of the work does not imply the granting of an invitation with ticket and accommodation, which shall be at the expense of the participant.

8.- The registration of the film in the festival implies the tacit acceptance of these rules. Any unforeseen circumstance not established in these Forms and Regulations, or arising during the Festival, shall be interpreted and resolved solely and exclusively by the Organizing Committee, and shall not give rise to any kind of subsequent claim.
