The Ayerbe Film Festival Association launches this second stage of the "Villa de Ayerbe International Short Film Festival".
Since this 17th edition, with new members in the organization, we want to give a great boost to the festival. In addition to the international competition, we have created a new section dedicated to Science and Research to give greater visibility to the event and from this edition onwards, the awards are now called "CAJAL Awards".
We want to continue with the idea of ​​collaboration with neighboring towns.
This collaboration is carried out in this way: All the selected short films may be screened locally collaborator simultaneously with the development of the Festival and their votes will serve to award the public prize.

XVII VILLA DE AYERBE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL “CAJAL AWARDS”
THE AYERBE FILM FESTIVAL ASSOCIATION calls for the 17th Villa de Ayerbe International Short Film Festival for the year 2024 and establishes that the new bases with which to govern said festival are the following:
RULES OF THE XVII EDITION OF THE VILLA DE AYERBE INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2024
l The festival is organized by the Ayerbe Film Festival Association, it is an international festival.
l Fiction, Animation and Documentary short films are accepted.
l The topic is free, although a special section dedicated to science is established
l The Villa de Ayerbe International Festival will be held from August 14 to 17, 2024
l The selected productions will be publicly screened on August 14, 15 and 16 in the towns of Ayerbe, Agüero, Ardisa, Biscarrues, Loarre, Loscorrales, Lupiñen, Murillo de Gállego, Nueno, Las Peñas de Riglos, La Sotonera and Santa Eulalia de Gállego, understanding that their authors and producers authorize their screening.
l In all these municipalities, a vote will be held that will serve to award the public prize.
l The closing ceremony and the awards ceremony of the Festival will take place on August 17 at the SENPA in Villa de Ayerbe
l Any natural person or legal entity can participate, individually or collectively, without age limit. The works can be presented in format: Full HD, H264, Mp4, stereo sound.
l Productions must have been made after January 1 of 2022.
l They can be made in any language, but necessarily subtitled in Spanish.
l The duration of the productions in any of the modalities must not exceed 20 'including credits.
l Registrations will be made through these platforms used by the Festival

l The period for registration and reception of productions begins on April 15, 2024 and ends on July 15, 2024.
l Works that use non-original material in more than 10% of the entire work will not be admitted.
l Authors must ensure that the content of their work does not infringe the intellectual property rights, image rights and other rights of third parties, exonerating the organizing committee from any legal responsibility.
l The festival may use the images of the short films as promotion of the Festival regardless of the year of presentation.
l The Festival organizing committee will appoint a jury made up of five people linked to the cinematographic world.
l The prizes will be the following:
▪ CAJAL PRIZE for the best production
▪ Special CAJAL AWARD from the public.
▪ Special CAJAL PRIZE on science and research.
l A trophy will be presented to prove the prize won.
l The jury will have the power to leave void the prize or prizes it deems appropriate, as well as award a special trophy to highlight technical and/or artistic aspects of any of the works in competition. Their decisions will be final.
l The production companies accept that, if they obtain any of the prizes, they will include a reference to the award of the prize at the beginning of each and every one of the copies of the film that they distribute for exhibition in theaters and/or audiovisual competitions. . This reference will consist of the image of Palmares provided by the organizing committee.
l Any issue that arises at the Festival, not contemplated in these RULES, will be decided by the organizing committee and the jury. Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these RULES.
