The CONIL DE CINE International Short Film Festival, organized by Niñas Films with the support and financing of the City Council and the Tourist Board of Conil de la Frontera, was created with the purpose of disseminating and promoting cinematographic culture, as well as supporting emerging filmmakers through the creation of a reference space, where their work can be made known, collaboration and connection between industry professionals is encouraged.

The Festival will celebrate its first edition between May 23 and 25, 2024.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:
The scope of the contest is national and international.
Short films produced after January 1, 2023 may participate except for the 2024 Special Section: Street Cinema, in which qualified short films are allowed from 2022.
The theme and genre of the productions is free.
Each participant can present one work per category.
If the original version is not in Spanish, they will have to be presented with Spanish subtitles.
Productions with a minimum duration of 3 minutes and a maximum of 25 minutes can participate.
SECTIONS AND CATEGORIES:
CONIL DE CINE consists of 2 sections:
OFFICIAL Section (National and international) and CONIL Section ON THE GOAL
OFFICIAL Section, 4 categories: FICTION, ANIMATION, DOCUMENTARY and SPECIAL CATEGORY 2024: STREET CINEMA.
For this section, (street cinema) in addition to Street Cinema cinema itself, we are looking for films that have to do with everything related to neighbourhood cinema, marginality, delinquency... The street as a common place for new forms of marginality in today's society and in the social fabric of neighbourhoods where individuals have to face exclusion from the economic and political system, stigmatised by their origin, affected by chronic unemployment and without alternatives that guarantee their wellbeing. CONIL IN THE GOAL Section: short films with a maximum duration of 15 minutes, in which all locations are shot in Conil de la Frontera and where the local environment and landscapes are prioritized. Special award awarded by the Conil Tourism Board.
REGISTRATION AND PARTICIPATION
Registrations and submissions of video files will be made through the Festhome platform and will be formalized by the directors, producers or their legal representatives. It is essential to complete the registration form provided by the platform.
The registration period ends on February 29, 2024. Applications for participation after that day will not be accepted.
Short films can be entered in all sections and categories.
SELECTION
A selection committee will be in charge, based on artistic quality, of selecting, from among the films presented, those works that will form the Festival's programming and will notify by email, with sufficient advance notice, to all participants, producers and/or directors. /as of the short films registered the name of the selected works
The selected short films will be sent in exhibition format until March 15, 2024 via Wetransfer to conildecine@gmail.com
The video files received for the projection must be:
• The minimum projection resolution at the Festival is 1920x1080 (1080p).
• File extension: the format of the files received must be mp4
• Video codec: the video codec used must be Apple ProRes 422 or H264/MPEG4 AVC
• Audio codec: the audio codec used must be AAC or PCM. Complementary material of the selected works:
• Biofilmography of the director.
• 1 Photocopy of the director/producer's ID.
• 1 Photograph of the director in *.jpeg format at 300 pixels resolution.
• 3 photographs of scenes from the short film in *.jpeg format at 300 pixels resolution.
• Poster and other promotional material.
• Subtitled works must come with subtitles already attached. Separate .srt files are not supported.
Once the work is selected, it cannot be removed from the Festival programming.
The Festival will also communicate the winners in writing to all those selected.
The recipient of said communication will be the one stated on the short film registration form.
Works of an advertising nature will not be admitted.
The selected short films will be screened publicly during the days of the festival.
Directors or producers will have to ensure in advance that the content of their work does not infringe the intellectual property rights or other rights of third parties and exempt the Organizing Committee from any legal responsibility.
Some fragments of the selected works may be used for the dissemination and/or promotion of the festival in the media (official trailer).
TRIPS (Only spanish productions)
The presence of the director or producer of the work will be required to present it on the day of the screening.
The festival covers the travel of the director or producer of the work as well as accommodation in a double room and meals for two people on the day of the screening. The winners will also have travel for 1 person and accommodation in a double room plus per diem covered on the day of the closing ceremony.
The production companies and directors of the short films, at the time of registering their works in CONIL DE CINE, accept that, if they obtain any of the prizes awarded by the festival, they will include a written reference or laurel to the granting of e
This award in each and every one of the copies of the short film that they distribute for exhibition in commercial theaters, DVD, internet and/or audiovisual competitions, as well as in all printed informative and promotional material (press-books, posters, etc.) This reference will consist of a text mentioning the type of award won, accompanied by the name of the festival: Conil de Cine or the laurel provided by the festival.
JURY AND PRIZES
A jury appointed by the organization and made up of professionals from the audiovisual sector and the field of culture will decide the awards.
The jury and program of selected short films will be made public a maximum of 20 days before the festival takes place.
The jury's decisions will be final.
The audience award will be decided by festival attendees.
The Organizing Committee can resolve any issue not provided for in the rules. Their decisions will be final.
