It is the regional event of festivals of the noir and policial genre of the Canary Islands.
Premi in contanti: 1,250€
CATEGORIES
BEST NOIR SHORT FILM 2026: €1,000 prize + Diploma and honorary trophy. Award for the best work.
AUDIENCE AWARD 2026: €250 prize + Diploma and trophy. Award for the work voted best by the audience.
Cash prizes will be subject to the applicable personal income tax withholding legislation (IRPF) and will be paid during the current fiscal year.
REGISTRATION
The production date of the short films must be later than June 2024.
The participating works must be uploaded to the Festhome platform in accordance with the platform’s technical specifications.
Works will be accepted from January 15 of the current year until March 7 at 12:00 noon (Canary Islands time).
PARTICIPANTS
This call is open and global.
CONTENT
The works must be classifiable within the Noir genre.
Short films made for previous editions of CineXpress Noir are excluded.
JURY AND awards
Tenerife Noir Express 2026 will appoint a jury composed of five professionals and experts in the noir genre, with the possibility of inviting a national or international professional.
The jury’s decision will be final. The Festival reserves the right to declare the call void.
LEGAL
The selected short films will be screened on Saturday, March 14, at Espacio Mutua Tinerfeña in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, where the Audience Award will be voted on.
Participants are responsible for holding all rights to the work, as well as obtaining copyright assignments from contributors (screenwriters and musicians, if any) and image rights releases from performers.
The organization is not responsible for any copyright infringements that may be incurred by the submitted works.
The use of music protected by copyright without the appropriate license will result in disqualification.
Contestants are responsible for any legal claims submitted regarding their works.
The authors grant Tenerife Noir the rights of reproduction, public communication, and distribution of the works on Tenerife Noir’s own social media channels, always with proper acknowledgment of their authorship.
The competition organizers reserve the right to exclude any works whose content is obscene, violent, sexist, racist, or violates any fundamental rights.
In compliance with Organic Law 3/2018 of December 5, the personal data of participants will be incorporated into an automated file used solely for the management and execution of this competition. The personal data of those requesting information about activities organized by Tenerife Noir will be used exclusively for that purpose. Participants have the right to access, cancel, oppose, and rectify the data concerning them in the file by submitting a request via email to: cinexpress@tenerifenoir.com

Participation in the competition implies acceptance of these rules.
Any act constituting an attack against participants, jury members, or members of the festival organization will be considered a serious offense and grounds for expulsion from the competition. Likewise, attempts at fraud or deception will be considered very serious offenses and may result in the return of prizes and their monetary value, as well as a permanent ban from participating in the festival. Tenerife Noir Express will take appropriate disciplinary measures after investigating each case, as well as any legal action deemed necessary.
The festival and the jury reserve the right to make modifications to these rules or add successive annexes regarding their mechanics and awards, provided these are justified, do not harm participants, and are duly communicated during the course of the competition.
