The Trujillo Film Festival is a non-profit event, the only one of its kind in Peru, dedicated entirely to disseminating Peruvian cinematography.

The initiative has twice won the award of the National Competition for Cultural Management for Cinema and Audiovisual, awarded by the Ministry of Culture, thanks to its promoting role of our cinema, in addition to its decentralizing effort.

The jury will award the following prizes:

-Best Fiction Film (Feature Film and Short Film)

-Best Documentary Film (Feature Film and Short Film)

RULES - FECIT 2020

The FECIT Trujillo Film Festival opens the call to participate in its 7th edition. The registration period is from August 23 to September 23, 2020, exclusively through https://festhome.com/festival/fecit and filling in the information requested by this platform.

This 2020, FECIT will adapt the activities to virtual mode. The objectives do not change and are strengthened in the use of new media and new technologies. Promoting the production, training, dissemination, commercialization and exhibition of Peruvian cinema and audiovisuals will continue to be the main line of work.

This seventh edition will be in partnership with RETINA LATINA (www.retinalatina.org), the main viewing window of the feature films in competition at the festival in this edition.
Regarding the exhibition of the short films in competition, they will be viewed on the FECIT website.

1. There will be competition in the Fiction and Documentary categories, both include feature films and short films.

2. Only Peruvian productions of free theme completed in the years 2018 to 2020 will participate, which have not participated in editions prior to this call.

3. The dialogues, narrations and other texts of the films must be in Spanish; otherwise, the copies will be sent with subtitles in that language. The subtitling costs will be borne by the producer.

4. Films that have been commercially released in Peru may compete.

5. The duration, in the case of feature films, should be between 60 to 120 minutes, and in short films it should not last more than 20 minutes.

6. Feature films will be screened for free and only in Peruvian territory for a period of 24 hours according to their programming at www.retinalatina.org.

7. The short films will be screened for free, during all the days of the festival on the Festival website.


8. FINAL PROVISIONS

a. The Festival reserves the right to select the works that participate in the different sections and to establish the order and the date of exhibition of each film. Once the acceptance of a work and the section of the Festival in which it will participate have been communicated by the Selection Committee to the author, said work cannot be withdrawn before its screening at the contest.

b. After the films are communicated in the official selection of the festival, the representatives or holders of the rights of the work will sign a document of AUTHORIZATION OF LICENSE OF NON-EXCLUSIVE USE OF AUDIOVISUAL WORK ON THE RETINA LATIN PLATFORM that will be sent by mail.

c. Registration implies full acceptance of these rules.

d. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to withdraw from competition during any phase of the process works that, with intention, omission or error, have provided incorrect information in the registration of their work or do not meet the technical requirements necessary for their projection and diffusion.

e. The selected copies will be part of the Festival's archive. In the case of short films, they may be screened for non-profit purposes as part of their promotion, after communicating to their directors or producers of the film.

9. RIGHTS OF THE PARTICIPATING WORKS

The participants claim to be the only and real owners of the audiovisual works that are presented at the festival, both in the case of being the author and the owners thereof. In the event of falsehood in the sworn statement, because they are not holders of the same, the responsibility for any claim from third parties will be exclusively the participant who presents the work, without the festival having nothing to respond to third parties.

The participants declare that they have all the rights involved in the work.

The participants declare that they leave the festival undamaged for any claim regarding the ownership of the work and / or lack of authorization regarding the rights contained therein.


10. SEND COPIES FOR EXHIBITION AND REPRODUCTION

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF DELIVERY OF DIGITAL FILES OF THE WORK AND SUBTITLES

a. The work must start from credits and end in credits. It must not contain bars, clapperboard or any other type of notices other than film credits. It should not contain subtitles embedded in the image. It should not have interlaced or pixelated effects in the image. (Feature films)

c. Video file type of the work: the digital file of the film must be in the highest quality, using high compression standards and according to the following specifications:

Allowed file formats: MP4, AVI, MOV, MXF (DCP Extension).
Allowed video codecs: H.265, H.264, H.263, MPEG-4, Apple Prores.
Allowed audio codecs: AAC, PCM.
Video file size: Up to 10 GB (Feature Films) and Up to 4 GB (Short Films). Larger files will not be received.

Resolution: It should be the following:
HD, the resolution at 1920x1080 px. Another resolution will be accepted, only when the source material has a different quality.
Manual marking of the aspect ratio when exporting: not automatic.

d. Subtitle file type: In the case of movies that are spoken in languages ​​other than Spanish or dialects, please include the independent subtitle file with the time code, and in the file extensions: .srt or .dxfp.
