The Sorihuela del Gualadlimar Film Festival is the First Festival to be held in the County Region of the province of Jaén, which means that it already has a privileged position in the Jaén film scene. This paradise is an unknown place for many filmmakers who, upon discovering its landscapes, its streets or its people and in general all the opportunities it offers them, will choose this wonderful corner of Jaén to make their stories come true and see them on the big screen.

At the same time, we bring culture closer to its citizens so that they experience cinema, give their opinions about cinema and be a jury of the cinema that they are going to see, since one of the prizes will be the "audience prize", which will be awarded through voting. of those attending each session of the Festival, to the short film with the highest score.

One of our objectives is to show the great work that is done at a national level with the short film format and to make these filmmakers coexist with the province of Jaén.

⦁ Best RTVA Short Film + Guadalimar Trophy.

⦁ Best Actress: Guadalimar Trophy.

⦁ Best Actor: Guadalimar Trophy.

⦁ Best Direction: Guadalimar Trophy.

⦁ Best Screenplay: Guadalimar Trophy.

⦁ Best Soundtrack: Guadalimar Trophy.

⦁ Best Cinematography: Guadalimar Trophy.

⦁ Best Youth Short Film: Guadalimar Trophy.

All prizes are subject to withholdings determined by current law in Spain.

The winners will be invited to the Awards Gala which will take place on Saturday, June 14 in the afternoon/evening.

The organization will cover the costs of accommodation, travel and food for two people on the day/night of the Gala and the day before if necessary.

The presence of the winners at the closing gala will be mandatory.


GENERAL RULES

The attending authors of the works selected for the competition may present their film personally if they wish, before the screening.

The organization may assume accommodation if they are interested in attending (subject to possible budgetary conditions)

The producers of the selected short films authorize the use of a fragment of the works up to a maximum of 20 seconds, for possible dissemination in any media.

The Organization may exhibit the selected short films in the places and times it deems appropriate, always within the dates of the festival and duly announced on our social networks and previously communicated to the directors/producers.

All participants, by virtue of being participants, fully accept these rules, as well as the resolution by the Organization of any problem not covered in them.

RULES III SORIHUELA DEL GUADALIMAR FILM FESTIVAL (JAÉN), from June 8 to 14, 2025.

1. Participation in this Competition is open to short films of national production, whether fiction, animation or documentary.

2. Short films shot in any format, silent or with incorporated sound, produced after January 1, 2024, may be submitted to the Competition.

3. The maximum duration of the films in competition will not exceed 15 minutes including the credits.

4. The films must be presented spoken in Spanish or in any of the languages ​​of the Spanish state, with Spanish subtitles.

5. Each author may submit up to a maximum of 2 works.

6. Three sections are established for the competition, the Official Section, the Provincial Section, the AMMAA Section and the Young Section.

The selection committee will choose, from among all the short films received, those that will be part of the competition. The Provincial Section will accept works from directors and producers born or resident in the province of Jaén, or provided that the short film has been shot in Jaén and that the team is made up of 60% professionals from the province.

The AAMMA Section (Andalusian Association of Women in Audiovisual Media) will include all works that promote values ​​for gender equality.

The short films selected for the AAMMA Section, the Provincial Section and the Young Section may also be part of the official national section in competition, if they have previously registered in said section.

7. The selected films will appear in the Festival Catalogue and will be shown in PUBLIC AND FREE sessions during the dates of the Festival. Specifically, between June 9 and 12, in afternoon/evening sessions at the venue chosen by the festival and belonging to the municipality of Sorihuela de Guadalimar, province of Jaén (Spain).

8. The decisions of the Selection Committee and the Jury are final.

REGISTRATION

Registration will be carried out via an ONLINE procedure through the FESTHOME platform.

In addition to the short film in digital format, the short film poster, 2 frames of the same and a photograph of the director must be uploaded to the server. When registering the work, a series of data will be requested that will make up the registration form, therefore, the participant who submits the work online does not have to send anything else by post or email.

SELECTED FILMS

1. The works selected for the competition will be announced from May 1 on the official festival website, on social networks and in different media. In addition, confirmation will be sent by email to each selected and non-selected work as well. The Festival will promote all selected works on social media and in the press in a timely manner.

2. The selected films must be sent in HD file with the h264 codec and minimum resolution of 1920 x 1080 -1080p- in .mp4) before May 15, 2025.
