The Sorihuela del Gualadlimar Film Festival is the First Festival to be held in the County Region of the province of Jaén, which means that it already has a privileged position in the Jaén film scene. This paradise is an unknown place for many filmmakers who, upon discovering its landscapes, its streets or its people and in general all the opportunities it offers them, will choose this wonderful corner of Jaén to make their stories come true and see them on the big screen.

At the same time, we bring culture closer to its citizens so that they experience cinema, give their opinions about cinema and be a jury of the cinema that they are going to see, since one of the prizes will be the "audience prize", which will be awarded through voting. of those attending each session of the Festival, to the short film with the highest score.

One of our objectives is to show the great work that is done at a national level with the short film format and to make these filmmakers coexist with the province of Jaén.

BASES II SORIHUELA DEL GUADALIMAR FILM FESTIVAL (JAÉN), from June 4 to 8, 2024.

1. Participation in this Contest is open to nationally produced short films, whether fiction, animation or documentary.

2. Short films shot in any format, silent or with incorporated sound, produced after January 1, 2023, may be submitted to the Contest.

3. The maximum duration of the films in competition will not exceed 20 minutes including the credits.

4. The films must be presented spoken in Spanish or in any of the languages ​​of the Spanish state, with subtitles in Spanish.

5. Each author may present up to a maximum of 2 works.

6. Three sections are established for competition, the Official Section, the Provincial Section and the AMMAA Section.

The selection committee will choose, among all the short films received, those that will be part of the competition. The Provincial Section will only accept works from directors born or resident in the province of Jaén, NOT short films shot there and directed by directors from outside the province. (Documentation certifying this condition will be requested from all directors)
The AAMMA Section will include all works that promote values ​​for real equality.
The short films selected for the AAMMA Section will also be part of the official competition section.

7. The selected films will appear in the Festival Catalog and will be shown in PUBLIC AND FREE sessions within the festival dates. Specifically between June 4 and 7, in afternoon/evening sessions at the venue decided by the festival and belonging to the municipality of Sorihuela de Guadalimar, province of Jaén (Spain).

8. The rulings of the Selection Committee and the Jury are final.
INSCRIPTION
Registration will be carried out through the ONLINE procedure through the FESTHOME platform.
Registration for this festival is €1. In addition to the short film in digital format, the short film poster, 2 frames of the film and a photograph of the director must be uploaded to the server. When registering the work, you will be asked for a series of data that will make up the registration form, therefore the participant who submits online does not have to send anything else by postal mail or e-mail.

SELECTED FILMS
1. The works selected for the competition will be announced starting May 13 on the official festival website, on social networks and in different media. In addition, confirmation will be sent by email to each selected work and to non-selected works as well. The Festival will promote all selected works on social networks and in the press in a timely manner.
2. The selected films must be sent in HD file with the h264 codec and minimum resolution of 1920 x 1080 -1080p- in .mp4) before May 20. April 2023.

The selected films will be eligible for the following awards:

All prizes are subject to withholdings determined by current law in Spain.

The winners will be invited to the Awards Gala that will take place on Saturday, June 8 in the afternoon/evening.
The organization will cover the costs of accommodation and food for two people on the day/night of the Gala and one more day if necessary.
In exceptional cases, travel financing can be studied.
The presence of the winners at the closing gala will be mandatory.


GENERAL RULES
The attending authors of the works selected for the competition may present their film personally if they wish, before the screening.
The organization may assume accommodation if they are interested in attending (subject to possible budgetary conditions)
The producers of the selected short films authorize the use of a fragment of the works up to a maximum of 20 seconds, for possible dissemination in any media.

The Organization may exhibit the selected short films in the places and times it deems appropriate, always within the dates of the festival and duly announced on our social networks and previously communicated to the directors/producers.
