DOCUMED - MEDITERRANEAN DOCUMENTARY CINEMA FESTIVAL
IN TUNISIA
7th Edition - 2024
DocuMed – Mediterranean Documentary Cinema Festival in Tunisia, organized annually by the Tunisian Documentary Cinema Association, offers screenings of creative documentaries from countries around the Mediterranean. It aims to promote the influence and dissemination of documentary films in Tunisia and to promote exchanges between professionals, creators and the public in a spirit of openness to anthropological, cultural and social diversity.
DocuMed:
- Carries humanist values, based on openness to other cultures, freedom of creation and sharing.
- Demonstrates its belonging to the world, its openness to its Maghreb, Arab and Mediterranean geographical and cultural context.
- Allows documentary cinema, as a form of questioning the world, humans and art, to participate in debates on ideas, knowledge, representations and imaginations.
- Encourages the public for the documentary film genre and allows as many people as possible to access theoretical and practical knowledge of documentary creation.
- Promotes exchange, helps to think and gives food for thought by providing access to representations of Tunisian realities and the world.
PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
Article 1:
Any documentary film without time limit may be submitted to the selection of DocuMed - Mediterranean Documentary Cinema Festival in Tunisia.
Article 2:
Participation in the selection is completely free.
The selected films will be presented free of charge during the festival. Participation in the DocuMed - Mediterranean Documentary Cinema Festival in Tunisia implies authorization to screen films in theaters for the duration of the Festival. The Festival will also be entirely or partially digital with free access to films from the platform www.documedtunisie.com
Article 3:
The films that have particularly distinguished themselves during this edition will be screened during a special program called “DOCUMED Film Resumption Days.
Article 4:
Only films meeting the following conditions will be admissible:
- Film produced during the last two years prior to this edition.
- The main themes addressed in the film must concern one or more Mediterranean countries.
Article 5:
Films already submitted in previous editions are not admissible.
Article 6:
Only one thread per participant will be allowed for the entire Edition.
Article 7:
Films in a non-French language version must be subtitled in French, or, where applicable, in english.
Article 8:
The registrant declares to be the actual author or beneficiary of the registered work, and as such the holder of all property rights.
REGISTRATION
Article 9:
For online registrations from the platform www.documedtunisie.com, the application must include the following elements:
- The duly completed registration form
- The film with French and / or english subtitles to watch.
If the film is selected, the additional files listed below will be requested
- A poster of the film (A3 format - portrait, 300dpi in JPEG), including all the necessary information (director, title, producer, etc.).
- Photos of the film (300 dpi in JPEG).
- A Word document including: a 5-line synopsis in French and english
- A biography of the director in French and english.
- A download link for the trailer.
Article 10:
Registration will only be validated upon receipt of all documents. Any incomplete file will automatically be refused without recourse.
Article 11:
Registration for the DocuMed Festival is final and irrevocable from the registration of the application file, thus giving the full right to the organizers to include it in their programming.
Article 12:
The selection of films for the Festival is established by a selection committee appointed by the DocuMed Festival. The decisions of this committee are final.
Article 13:
If selected, the Festival accepts the following screening formats: digital file media downloadable via the internet or on Hard Disk, USB key, DVD or Blu-Ray)
The producer / director agrees to provide a version of sufficient quality. The Festival undertakes to take the greatest possible care of them and reserves the right with regard to film extracts which are used.
Article 14:
The selected films will eventually be used in a retrospective screening of the Mediterranean Documentary Cinema Festival in Tunisia.
Article 15:
The organizing committee reserves the right to use extracts from the films entered and trailers, and to broadcast on television channels, on websites, as well as on social networks for communication around the Festival.
The data provided during registration will be used in various publications and may be subject to translations, corrections or modifications prior to their publication.
Article 16:
The signatory of these regulations certifies that they are the rights holder of the film and have notified any other rights holders, and certify that they have all the legal authorizations of these. By delegation, all rights holders accept these regulations in their entirety.
By entering a film for selection at the DocuMed Festival and signing the official entry form, the producer and author of the work agree to the above rules in their entirety.
