• Best Student Short Film with a Sequence Shot: A work produced by students from any film and audiovisual media school, which, in the Jury's opinion, combines technical, artistic, and production aspects that ideally combine with the Sequence Shot. Award: Main Statuette of the Event.

• Best Professional Short Film with a Sequence Shot: A work that, in the Jury's opinion, combines technical, artistic, and production aspects that ideally combine with the Sequence Shot. Award: Main Event Statuette

• Special Mention "I Love Life, I Love Cinema": works whose content promotes the values ​​of friendship, love, family, and other similar themes. Award: Main Event Statuette.
Direction, Production, Photography, Camera, Script, Main Theme or Music (only original musical works will participate), Sound, Soundtrack, Colorization, Lead Actress, Lead Actor, Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, Art Direction, Editing and Assembly, Trailers, Poster Design and number of views on the ECIMA YouTube channel during the festival days.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST CAREFULLY READ THE RULES FOR THIS FESTIVAL. BY REGISTERING, THEY ACCEPT THEM. ANY MATTERS NOT COVERED IN THE FOLLOWING REGULATIONS WILL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE FESTIVAL ORGANIZING COMMITTEE.

Short films will be entered into the competition at the request of their producers, whether Venezuelan or foreign, who hold the rights to the work.

By submitting a work to participate in FESCISE, participants implicitly authorize the organization to exhibit, promote, and distribute it through any means it deems appropriate for the festival's promotion.

The deadline for receiving submissions is June 25, 2026.

Works that do not meet all the required criteria will NOT be accepted.

Short films must have a minimum duration of 5 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes (including credits), with a single continuous shot or sequence of at least 4 minutes within the film. Feature films that include sequence shots within their narrative structure are also eligible.

No submissions will be accepted after the closing date of the call for entries.

This edition will have the following categories:

Student: Participation of students from any educational institution. Proof of enrollment is required, and the work must be produced using non-professional equipment. Registration fee: fifteen US dollars ($10) at the BCV exchange rate. Professional: Participation of professionals from anywhere in the world with at least one work completed at this level and experience in the field. Registration: Fifteen dollars ($15) at the BCV exchange rate.
#FESCISEENCORTO (Single category for the production of a 1-minute 30-second short film. Single take, promoting social values. Can be made with professional equipment – ​​phone or camera. (Registration: $5) For this category, points 8c, 8d, and 8e of the following guidelines are NOT required.)
Feature Film: Works that contain single takes within their narrative. These works will be screened only in theaters and spaces programmed by the festival.

Submissions will be received via Festhome or WeTransfer to the email address: festivaldesecuencias@gmail.com. The work to be submitted must be sent along with the following documents:

Proof of deposit to Banco de Venezuela, Checking Account No. 0102-0451-88-0000202303 in the name of Fund. ECIMA Oriente, RIF: J-40095272-7. Email: ecimaorientevenezuela@gmail.com. If paying via PayPal, please send the payment to yluhibeth@gmail.com (the participant assumes the commission).
Copy of the ID of the producer or representative of the organization registering the work.
Trailer in HD format (minimum), maximum duration of 30 seconds.
Making of in HD format (minimum), maximum duration of 30 seconds.
Soundtrack (if original).
Poster in .png format (minimum 300 DPI).
2 photographs of the director (minimum 300 DPI).
5 behind-the-scenes photographs (minimum 300 DPI).
File format: .mp4. Codec: H.264. Resolution: 1920×1080. Maximum total size: 3.5 GB (for submissions).
The music or soundtrack of the work competing in this category must be royalty-free. author (copyright). They can be original compositions.

All copies submitted to the festival for consideration will become part of the film archive of the Eastern School of Film and Audiovisual Media (ECIMA) and will be published on the festival's YouTube channel for a limited time. (IN THE CASE OF SHORT FILMS AND PROVIDED THEY ARE NOT SUBJECT TO A PREVIOUS CONTRACT THAT PREVENTS THIS ACTION). FEATURE FILMS ARE EXEMPT FROM THIS RULE.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to exclude from the festival any works whose content is discriminatory in sexual, social, racial, religious, or other aspects, in order to promote inclusion.

Only one (1) work per director or participant per category will be accepted.

Institutional videos and works submitted to previous editions of the festival will not be accepted.

The competition will only accept works produced within the two (2) years prior to this edition of the festival.

Works submitted to the competition must be in Spanish. In the case of films in other languages, they must be subtitled in Spanish.

The submitted works will be reviewed by a Pre-Selection Committee, which will determine which films will be entered into the competition. These will be published through the organization's various media channels on June 30, 2026, so that each filmmaker can promote and publicize their selection.

All submitted works will be evaluated by a jury appointed by the festival organization, which will have the authority to select the nominated and winning films. Their decision will be final.

Participation by any member of the festival organization (belonging to any of its committees) or family members of the judging panel members is prohibited.

No member of the festival organization (belonging to any of its committees) or family members of the judging panel will be permitted to participate.

The films in competition will be screened in two private cinemas located in the Petroriente Shopping Center, Maturín, Monagas State (Venezuela), as well as in alternative venues with mobile screens.

The selected films will be awarded prizes as follows:

Best Feature Film with a Single Take: The film that, in the jury's opinion, best combines technical, artistic, and production aspects with the single take(s) used in the narrative. Prize: The Festival's Main Award.

Best Student Short Film with a Single Take: A film made by students from any film or audiovisual media school that successfully combines technical and artistic aspects with the single take. Prize: The Festival's Main Award.

Best Short Film with Professional One-Shot Shot: A work that meets the highest technical and artistic standards combined with the one-shot shot. Award: Main Statuette of the Event.

Special Mention "I Love Life, I Love Cinema": Works whose content promotes values ​​such as friendship, love, and family, among others. Award: Main Statuette of the Event.

Best Short Film #FESCISEENCORTO: Works that promote social values ​​and meet the category requirements. Award: Main Statuette of the Event.

Other awards to be presented (Professional and Feature Film Categories):

Audience Choice, Direction, Production, Cinematography, Camera, Screenplay, Main Theme or Music (original works only), Sound, Soundtrack, Color Grading, Lead Actress, Lead Actor, Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, Art Direction, Editing, Trailers, Poster Design, and number of views on the ECIMA YouTube channel from July 23 to 24, 2026.

Student Short Film Category: Direction, Production, Cinematography, Camera, Screenplay, Lead Actor and Actress, Poster Design, and number of views on the ECIMA YouTube channel from July 23 to 24, 2026.

Nominees will be notified by the organizing committee on Friday, July 24, and may attend the Awards Gala with family and friends (the maximum capacity will be announced that same day). The gala will take place in a private space on Saturday the 6th at 6:00 p.m. at the Hotel Luciano Jr., pool area.
Should a work be selected as the winner, the statuette will be sent via courier service, following prior arrangements with the winner.

Winning works must include a reference to the award or special mention received at the festival in their credits (beginning or end) and on their poster.

Any other unforeseen considerations may be taken into account by the Organizing Committee, provided they do not affect the festival's outcome.
