The Festival consists of the following sections:

THREE COMPETITIVE:

1. Fiction section
A selection of 10 works chosen by the evaluation committee, between fiction film, submitted to competition by professionals in the sector.

2. Documentary Section
A selection of 4 documentary works chosen by the evaluation commission, submitted to the contest by professionals and non-professionals from the sector.

3. Novel Section
Selection of non-professional works of fiction or documentary, carried out and produced by educational and care centers for people with Functional Diversity.

NON COMPETITIVE:

A. Children’s section
A selection of animated films, chosen by the evaluation committee, for children, to be screened in school sessions.

The Festival will be held in Redondela (Pontevedra) from April 22 to May 3, 2025 with headquarters at the Multipurpose facilities of A Xunqueira (Paseo da Xunqueira s/n).

The management reserves the right to modify these locations, depending on the health and social situation experienced on the dates of the Festival, informing of the changes that occur sufficiently in advance and diffusion.

Rules of the X Andaina international short film and functional diversity festival
1) THEME
All films will base their script on functional diversity or will be starred by people with disabilities (in this case the theme can be free).

2) REACH
The professional fiction and documentary sections are international in scope, with the obligation to be recorded in Galician or Spanish, otherwise it will be mandatory that they be subtitled in any of the required languages.

The novel section is national in nature, giving preference to works produced in the Galician community, and they must also be recorded or subtitled in Galician or Spanish.

3) duration
The duration of fiction works in the professional and novel sections will be more than 2 minutes and less than 20 minutes, and documentaries, whose duration will not be more than 20 minutes.

4) PRODUCTION DATES
A maximum of two works per author will be accepted. These must have been produced after January 1, 2022.
Films that have been selected as finalists in previous editions cannot be submitted.

5) ACCESSIBILITY
The evaluation committee will take into account positively when making the selection, that the films are subtitled for deaf people. In the same way, it is appreciated that if they have an audio description version, they also make it available to the festival.

To receive the statuette it will be mandatory to attend the closing gala of the festival.

7) AUTHORIZATIONS
The authors of the works will assign to the Festival, during its celebration, the rights to exploit them, consisting of their reproduction, communication and public distribution, as well as subsequent exhibitions that the Andaina Association may carry out for cultural purposes. or educational. They will always be exercised with the recognition of their author status, except for statements to the contrary. They also authorize the festival to carry out an online edition, in the event that the physical edition cannot be carried out on the scheduled dates.

8) RIGHTS TO THIRD PARTIES
Contestants are responsible for the absence of rights to third parties for the use of musical pieces in the works presented and are also responsible for the image rights of the people who appear in them, as well as minors, exempting the Organization from any responsibility in this regard.

9) COMPLIANCE WITH THE STANDARDS
The Festival Organization reserves the right to exclude all those works whose content is obscene, violent, sexist, racist or violates any fundamental right of people. Likewise, those films that do not comply with these bases will not be taken into account for the selection.

The inscription of the film in this Festival, supposes the acceptance of these bases and the consent of the authorizations of the point 7 of the same.

10) REGISTRATION
The short films will be sent to the festival in digital format through the platforms: www.festhome.com

The deadline for receiving works ends on December 15, 2024, with the exception of the novel section that ends on January 15, 2025. The organization reserves the right to modify these rules if necessary.
INSCRIPTION

The films in competition will be sent to the festival exclusively through the digital platforms: www.festhome.com

Participants will send their copies before December 15, 2024 to the aforementioned platforms including the following information: 3 high-quality digital photographs of the short film Copy of the DNI in digital format of the person representing the short film, as well as a means of contact with the responsible person.

We would appreciate: A digital image of the poster of the short film -Any other information of interest (links to trailers, links to the making-of, website, press kit, files, etc.)

In the same way, it will be appreciated that together with the information in the film, its relationship with functional diversity is pointed out, an essential requirement to participate (script or actors with disabilities).

As it is a festival dedicated to functional diversity, it will be taken into account that the films are subtitled in Spanish or Galician, to facilitate access to the cinema for people with hearing disabilities.

All the required documentation will become part of the organization’s material for the festival’s video library

The costs of digital delivery of the material will be borne by the participants.

Compliance with the registration requirements is a mandatory condition to participate in the contest. Any deficiency, incomplete data or documentation not sent will mean non-participation in the contest.

Postal shipments will not be accepted.
