The Festival is organized by the CinemArt Association of Pineda de Mar, it is an international festival with the aim of promoting a specific space for the discovery, screening and dissemination of short films.
The main thematic axis of the festival is that of comedy; however, the theme and genre of the productions is free. Quality and originality will be prioritized as the main objective, and that the production is unprecedented.

The Festival is organized by the CinemArt Association of Pineda de Mar. It is an international festival whose aim is to promote a specific space for the discovery, screening and dissemination of short films.
The main thematic focus of the festival is comedy; however, the subject and genre of the productions are open. Quality and originality will be prioritized as the main objective, as well as the fact that the production is unreleased.
The 12th Pineda de Mar International Short Film Festival will be held at the end of September 2026.
The programme of the 2026 Pineda de Mar International Short Film Festival will include various activities aimed at showcasing the selected short films and promoting different aspects of the world of cinema in Pineda de Mar, with the collaboration of the Pineda de Mar Town Council and local organisations.
The closing ceremony and awards presentation of the Festival will take place on the last day of the festival, in September 2026, at the Pineda de Mar Auditorium.
Any individual or legal entity may participate, either individually or collectively, with no age limit, and may do so in any of the following formats: HD, Full HD and 4K (mpg, mp4, …).
Productions must have been completed after 1 January 2025.
They may be made in any language, but must be subtitled into Spanish or Catalan.
Short films in Catalan must be subtitled into Spanish.
The running time of the short films must be under 25 minutes, including credits.

The submission and reception period for productions opens on 1 November 2025.
The submission and reception period for productions closes on 31 March 2026.
Works of an advertising or touristic nature will not be accepted, nor those that use non-original material for more than 10% of the total running time. Works that do not have the necessary technical quality for proper screening will also not be accepted.
The authors must ensure that the content of their work does not infringe intellectual property rights, image rights or any other rights of third parties, releasing the Organising Committee from any legal liability.
The selected productions will be publicly screened during the days of the Festival, it being understood that their authors or production companies authorise the screening. Under no circumstances will screening fees be paid. Admission to the screenings at the Auditorium organised by the Festival is completely free of charge.
The Festival may use images from the short films for the promotion of the festival, regardless of the year.
The Jury
The CinemArt Organising Committee will appoint a Jury made up of 8 or more members.
The Jury reserves the right to leave any prize or prizes unawarded if it deems appropriate, as well as to grant a special trophy to highlight technical and/or artistic aspects of any of the works in competition. Its decisions will be final.
The OFFICIAL SELECTION will be announced on the Festival’s website during July 2026. The works submitted may remain in the possession of the organisation, which reserves the right to use them exclusively as promotional material for the Festival.
Production companies agree that, in the event of receiving any of the awards granted, they will include a written reference to the award at the beginning of each and every copy of the film that they distribute for theatrical exhibition and/or audiovisual events, as well as in all printed informational and promotional material. This reference will consist of a text indicating the type of award received, accompanied without exception by the award laurel image provided by the Organising Committee.
These costs shall not be borne by the Festival.
It is an essential condition for receiving the cash prizes that the winner attend the CINEMART closing gala. If the winner cannot attend, a representative must attend on their behalf and/or send us a video message of thanks.
Travel expenses are not included.
On the night of the closing gala, the organisation will cover the accommodation of the award winners.
Cash prizes will be paid within a maximum period of one month from the official awards ceremony, by bank transfer. The legally applicable withholdings and taxes in force will be deducted from the prize amount.
Any issue that may arise during the Festival and is not covered in these RULES will be decided by the Organising Committee and the Jury. Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these RULES.
