IV FIVO 2024 Participation Rules
The developed Rules apply to all participants of FIVO 2024.

There is no limit to the number of works submitted by each author, provided they were created after January 1, 2024.

All works submitted to the competition must be original. By signing these legal rules, participants affirm that they own the authorship and therefore the intellectual property rights (or the authorized license for the use of the piece by its owners), as well as the transfer of image rights for the people appearing in the work.

In case of non-compliance with authorship, the person responsible will be solely the one who submitted the video clip, assuming, therefore, the consequences of any kind of claim or legal action. Consequently, the organization is exempt from any conflict arising from the non-authorship of the submitted works.

Works submitted in previous editions of this Festival will not be selected.

The festival is divided into four sections:

6.1. Official Section: International video clip competition.

6.2. National Showcase: Showcase of national video clips.

6.3. Asturias Section: Competition of video clips made by Asturian directors.

6.4. Music Documentary: Showcase of musical documentaries (Short films and Feature films).

7. Awards

7.1. Official Section Award: 1000 euros (ONE THOUSAND euros).

7.2. RTPA Award for Best Asturian Video Clip: 500 euros (FIVE HUNDRED euros).

Thanks to the sponsorship of Radiotelevisión del Principado de Asturias (RTPA), the International Video Clip Festival of Oviedo will award a cash prize of 500 euros. To participate in this section, interested parties can submit their works to fivo.oviedo@gmail.com.

Specific Rules for the RTPA Award for Best Asturian Video Clip:

The ASTURIAS VIDEO CLIPS SECTION is part of the 5th edition of the International Video Clip Festival of Oviedo (FIVO), which will take place from November 7 to November 11, 2024.

Participation is open to producers and directors of audiovisual works who are natives of the Principality of Asturias, residents of the region, or whose works have been created within the Principality, fulfilling one of the following conditions:

The director or producer must be registered as a resident in the Principality of Asturias or must have continuously resided there for at least 5 years or intermittently for 10 years.

The producer or the production company must be located in Asturias for at least 6 months before the call for submissions.

The works must be of free theme and genre, with a maximum duration of 15 minutes, and must have been produced after January 1, 2023.

Interested parties can submit their video clips to fivo.oviedo@gmail.com or through Festhome. The submission deadline is October 20, 2024.

The final copy for projection must be submitted no later than November 4, 2024.

The selection of a work implies the transfer of rights for promotional use by RTPA and the Festival.

7.3. European Youth Card Award: 500 euros (FIVE HUNDRED euros).

This award is sponsored by the European Youth Card Program of the Asturian Youth Institute, aimed at young filmmakers born and/or residing in the Principality of Asturias, under 30 years of age. Interested parties must submit their works to fivo.oviedo@gmail.com, specifying if the directors are under 30 years of age.

7.4. The award will be paid by bank transfer to the account provided by the winners, within a maximum period of six months from the date of the festival.

7.5. If any of the winners cannot attend the award ceremony, they must appoint someone else to collect it on their behalf and send a thank-you video to be projected. They must notify their absence in advance. If these requirements are not met, the winner will not receive the cash prize.

7.6. Winners must provide the necessary documentation for payment within a maximum of 10 days from the award ceremony. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the forfeiture of the cash prize (although not the status of the winner).

7.7. The organization reserves the right to make and deliver special mentions.

The submission and registration of works can only be done through Festhome.

The submission period will be open from 00:00 on September 17 until 23:59 on October 17, 2024.

The Festival will notify all participants by email of the works that make up the official selection two weeks before the start of the event.

The theme of the work is free, but violent content that may offend the public's sensibilities will be excluded.

11.1. The festival organization reserves the right to reject works that do not comply with the rules or that do not meet a minimum quality standard (we will be strict with those that do not respect the submission format or exceed the established duration).

11.2. The copies submitted for competition will be kept by the festival organization indefinitely, becoming part of the archive material, and may be used for non-profit purposes.

11.3. The decisions of the Selection Committee and the Jury are final.

11.4. Jury votes and decisions are secret, personal, and irrevocable. Voting will be done by a simple majority and will not be public until the awards ceremony. Subsequently, the results will be published through the festival's various channels and other media outlets.

Contestants grant the festival the rights to reproduce, in whole or in part, the submitted works, both within the scope of the competition and through any means used by this festival for promotion. This does not imply the loss of copyright by their owners but the transfer of these rights for non-commercial purposes related to the festival.

12.1. Contestants authorize the festival to use, reproduce, and distribute their name, as well as the works they participate with, and the images and frames contained in these pieces, for the creation of a special program about the festival to be broadcast by RADIOTELEVISIÓN DEL PRINCIPADO DE ASTURIAS RTPA.

12.2. Any additional information or clarification will be provided by email.

All participants, by entering, fully accept these rules, as well as the resolution by the Organization of any issue not covered in these rules. In case of doubt, the criteria of the Festival Organization will prevail.

The Organization reserves the right to modify these rules.
