REGULATIONS
GENERATION 7th ART
NATIONAL SCHOOL FILM FESTIVAL – 2026 Edition.
From November 11 to 14, 2026 in Lyon.

1 / WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Submitted films must be entirely conceived and produced by minors under 18 years old at the time of filming, with adult supervision strictly limited to technical guidance, without interfering in the main artistic direction.

The festival is open to:

• Schools (primary, middle, and high schools) from all academic regions in France. Teachers may submit a whole class project, a group project, or an individual student project.

• Organizations and associations such as youth clubs (MJC), cultural centers, and any structure working with school-aged students.

• Independent young filmmakers.

• Winners of festivals or projects involving filmmaking by young people aged 6 to 18.

2 / SUPPORT

Participants may, if they wish, benefit from support offered by our association, through a Pass Culture program for schools or through independent funding.

All primary schools supported by our association will be able to attend a screening day showcasing their films in a cinema on June 8, 2026 (outside the official festival framework).

For more information, contact: etablissements@generation7art.com

3 / FESTIVAL THEME 2026

Through the creation of a film (fiction, animation, documentary, etc.), participants may submit a film related to the 2026 theme: “Living Together”, or choose a free theme based on their inspiration.

There is no mandatory or disqualifying duration; however, a length of 5 to 10 minutes (including credits) is recommended.

Filmmakers may submit works produced within the last three years. However, a film submitted in a previous edition cannot be entered again.

4 / MAKING YOUR FILM

• Projects may be created as a full class, in small groups, or individually.

• There is no limit to the number of projects submitted by a school or organization.

• All formats are accepted: fiction, documentary, animation, etc.

• Films in languages other than French are accepted provided they include French subtitles.

• Submitted films must be suitable for a young and family audience. Films containing explicit violence, discrimination, bullying, offensive language, drug or alcohol use, nudity, or any inappropriate content for minors will not be accepted. The selection committee reserves the right to reject any film that does not align with the festival’s educational and ethical values.

• All music and images used must be credited in the end credits.

Important:
It is permitted to use both royalty-free and copyrighted (commercial) music. The festival covers copyright fees for all selected films through a global agreement with SACEM.

5 / IMAGE RIGHTS AUTHORIZATION FOR MINORS

1. Teachers, school principals, or organization leaders are solely responsible for the films submitted.

2. As a group leader (teacher, educator, facilitator), you must ensure that every minor appearing in the film has an individual image rights authorization signed by their legal guardian.

3. Two separate documents are available on the festival website:

o The individual image rights authorization form, to be completed and signed by each student’s legal guardian.

o The responsible party’s certificate, to be completed and signed by the project leader (teacher, educator, etc.), certifying that all individual authorizations have been obtained.

4. The responsible party’s certificate is mandatory to validate a film submission. It must be sent by email to: etablissements@generation7art.com, ideally at the time of submission or as soon as possible.

Without this document, the film will not be considered for selection.

Important:
If your film is selected, you will be required to provide all individual image rights authorizations for the students appearing in the film.

6 / APPLICATION AND FILM SUBMISSION

Procedure via our website:

1 / To submit your application and film, complete the form “Application Form and Film Submission”. You must include a link to the final version of your film (YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, etc.).

The film file (minimum resolution 1080p) must be accessible via a viewing link in the form (with password if required).

2 / Please also send the responsible party’s image rights certificate by email (see section above).

You will be notified from September 7, 2026, if your film is selected.

Important:
Submitting an application does not guarantee selection.
Submission deadline: June 30, 2026.
